Yo, I have been considering hosting a monthly for quite some time now. It would mean that we have 2 monthlies in London a month, because fuzzy hosts his between the 25th-30th, I would like to host mine between 12th-17th.

Housing can be provided for about 10 people in my garage, but only for those who really need it!!

The tourney would be hosted around the Totteridge/Finchley Central area, which are both easy to reach via the Northern Line, and about a 5 minute walk for both areas. You can get to both of these places via the underground and overground, both being roughly 30 minutes from Kings Cross station!

**Venue location is up for debate**

Stage list would be up for debate, I would most likely hold a poll to decide. I would also like to experiment with triple bracket elimination if such a thing exists/is possible. It would probably be £5 just like the Ranbat, I have no interest in making a profit here, and am fully aware i may be making a loss. £20-£30 loss a month for the smash community is a small price to pay.

The conditions for me holding this:
1)
I get a good, but cheap venue. There are 2 in the vicinity which I'll make an inquiry about this week if there is enough interest.

2)
I get enough interest from the people. This tourney would host Melee and Brawl, in the interests of breaking even. A confirmed/interested list would be of assistance.

3)
Fuzzy allows me to order cabs so I can borrow his TV's, until the tournament is established enough for me to buy my own ones from Ebay. I have like 5 already though, and the venues are near my house.

4)
Most important *** People do not decide to ditch going to Fuzzy's monthly!!*** That would be horribly unfair, in addition to harming the community instead of aiding it!!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok, so those are the preqs. Now i need information from each and every one that looks on this thread. The more information i get, the more likely I will be hosting these every month! Just by awnsering these questions, you will be doing a huge favour to your smash community, and your improvement within the game! Remember More tourneys = quicker progression into the next level of smash.

Ok, now too the questions:

1)
Out of 3 months, how many tourneys would you attend of Fuzzys? (Max 3)

2)
Would you be interested in attending a Tournament in this location? i.e 30 minutes from Kings Cross?

3)
Would this tourney, in any way, possibly result in you not attending Fuzzys monthly? (ranbat)

4)
Would triple bracket elimination effect/sway your choice in anyway?

5)
Do you think that attending 2 tournaments a month would make you improve.. twice as fast!!? ( if you do not awnser yes go back to year 3) (rhetorical)

6)
Most importantly... do you want your smash community to grow. It is essential that everybody helps - i.e attends tournaments regularly - for our tournament scene to grow. Should his current plan flop, after i have some XP (good idea tamoo lol), i will be entering negotiations with Fuzzy, as to an international Tourney. Could be he needs no help, could be he is in dire need. Could be he rejects - regardless, attend tourney = higher chance of an international. It could well take both of our balances to host it, but that is a discussion for another time.

7)
would you like the venue to be at a different location? if so, where?

8)
would you guys prefer this to just be a very large smashfest, like £2 / £3 venue fee to cover the cost

9)
are you interested?

So awnser the questions, ill look over and have a word with Fuzzy. If all goes well, you could expect the first second London Monthlies around February 15th.

Help your community... GROW.

1) lol

2) not really, tho barkingside isn't the best place either and I'm limited to not being able to use the venue till 1:30pm -_-
if you can find me a better venue (can be used before 1:30pm) that isn't so expensive and has a storage place for t.vs then cool. THEN WE CAN DO TEAMS TOO

3) lol

4) why triple, just pools and brackets dude

5) it would be nice for the community to be more active but I think it's too much, atm all that is needed is for the regions to man up and be more active with smashfests

6) duh, and international tourney I'll research after christmas

7) doesn't matter to me

8) yes

9)yes

Never been to a London ranbat before so at some point I may tag with Trio and attend.

I'm short of cash at present times though so it may not be until January that I come down to one (this or Fuzzy's - undecided). £5 isn't a lot to pay for ranbat and apparently getting to London is fairly cheap so I could work it out.

:)

I also need to learn to fight more characters... what with getting my *** handed to me by Fuzzy's ROB (**** I almost beat your Marth. grrr). that and just meeting other smashers would be nice.

And never been to London so that'd be new too. :)

THE MORE TOURNEYS THE BETTER. YAR.

Are you doing this until the normal London Monthlies kick back up.....cos then otherwise I don't see that much point.

IMO two ranbats a month is too much.

If people want to improve they can always just go to the occasional smashfests which held throughout London by various people.

But two ranbats a month is too much. Esp when Fuzzys is gonna be bigger, then we might get some weird confusions in the community and then some people attredning one and not the other (I know you said this shouldn't happen but regardless of what you say......IT WILL)

I know I wouldn't be making both....sorry.

You might aswell just host it before the big Ranbats start coming on.
The big ranbats are successful and are decently spread apart to show the vairation in peoples skills and improves....no need to change that.

I prefer Ben's suggestion - this is what we did at my house prior to monthlies/ranbats so I know it will have enough interest

I agree as well.

Two monthlies isn't needed for this community.

But set smashfests need to be more frequent cos we only really have smashfests with like 2-6 people at most.
And maybe we could go back to them days with the GOOD smashfests with like 10-15 people.

But we don't need another London Monthly :urg:

idk I'd be pretty happy with a frequent smashfest every month, two monthlies and it'd feel like a chore to me. :/

i cant really host a smashfest, where is the breaking even ability? also, lets say i got like a 30/40 man turnout for an awesome smashfest, whats the point in it not being a tourney lol? I would still need to charge like £3 to cover the venue costs, and ideally i would like to make at least £10 a pop, so i can invest in TV's ad see the money return eventually. Though as i said, i would take a loss... but not for smashfests!

who exactly is going to allow that many people over, melee + brawl for a smashfest. Also shouldent they organise it.. TV transfes etc - i am going to go ahead and try this out for 2, maybe 3 months and we can see whagwan. However so far awfully poor melee support loll, which is all im really interested in...

breaking even ability = ability to break even on the money spent on venue

This sounds good to me :D It is easier for me to get to Kings Cross than where the other place is, so there would be more chance of me being able to attend. Plus the more tourneys the better, imo :D

Do you know an exact place this will be held?
