After you've been to a tournament, don't you guys always feel the urge to talk about how you performed? Well, you can use this thread for that. Just say what went well, what went bad, what you learned, why you won, why you lost, stuff like that. Just talk about your last tournament where you played sheik. I see these kinds of posts clustered in different threads so I thought a new thread would be good for this.

Ya know, that's supposed to be like, one of the purposes of the social thread, but so long as this stays on topic, i'll allow it. >.>

i just played in a tournament yesterday in alberta. I got knocked out of winners bracket by superboom fan's marth. i dont know the specifics of the matchup and i need help with it.

the best i can figure is i was aporaching in the air to much and my CCs were getting *****. I dont know how to continue long grab combos without platforms the marth just seems to di away then fair when i try to follow up. I also counterpicked FD because going through my head i thought it would be good for camping needles and chasing the DI of marth out of grabs. when i think back both samus and marth i should of counterpicked rainbowcruise

I forgot that sheik is based entirely on baiting/hit and run. FD doesnt let you do that at all. i kept getting combod out of grabs/tilts/upairs and had to use my double jump to get away, then proceeded to get punished when i landed and kept offstage. I think FD is sheiks worse neutral, i knew that yet i Counterpicked it over FOD, dumb idea.

Another matchup i dont know well is samus. i know needles are good and grab to fair is good, i feel like i cant aproach if they use bombs to cover me when i attack. again i counterpicked FD for the same reason. Lots of room. the samus was technical so it made it harder. I feel like i suck as a sheik player because i lost to a samus. i need to learn the matchup do's and donts. what works what doesnt.

Iv learned to trust my knowledge on counterpicks and just basic matchup knowledge and go with what works, go with your instinct its usually right.

On a good note. The thread i made about puff and all the feedback helped me with that matchup and was able to outgay puff. I tested it and Fullhop needles work very well. im confident fighting peach/fox/falco/puff/falcon. im just strugling with marth/samus, partly because SuperBoomFan and FalseFalco are at a higher level then me.

I really find falco an easy matchup now, the openings are so clear. and the followups are also very easy. im very comfortable fighting falcos better then me now.

If Marth DIs your dthrow away you can always just regrab. Its pretty much a CG as long as they DI away. If they don't DI or DI behind you try uptilt. It can setup for easy fairs/bairs, if you can keep marth in the air after that you'll place yourself at an advantage.

And why do you feel like you can't bait on FD?

Also don't feel bad you lost in a match up thats supposedly in your favor. Some people have trouble with certain match ups. The only remedy is experience.

Slight DI away is annoying, you can't do much to it. Just F-tilt and then try something funny. Maybe dd grab them if they always Fair.

At like 25 you can just Uair them for it though and combo stuff.
