Post Count: Worth the bandwith?

IMO, no, its not.

Many forums have gotta rid of it with the agrument that it 1:promotes spamming. and 2: Provides a false sense of athority. I wholeheartdly agree with this, and now without it we can judge someone from posts an not count.

I don't really think authority is based on the post count, at least to me. I base people on of course the posts they make, but if I want something besides that, I'll look at their member number or the date they joined.

My opinion is they should stay.

The post count is important. You wouldn't know because you're not an admin, then you'd see how much time it saves. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

When we see a member with one post making a topic about advertising his site, we know we need to just ban him.

When we see a member with one post who seems to know alot about the other members and is bashing them, we know another member made an alias and we should match IP's to ban that member for being stupid.

I look at Member # more often than post count but like XDaDePsak said, it can be used to weed out spammers and such. BTW, ho much badwidth [percent wise I guess] does post count take up?

the post count has nothing to do with bandwidth at all dk dude. I think he just meant that with teh post count people want to get theirs really high so they just spam everywhere...taking up BW. But the post counter itself has nothing to do with Bandwidth.
