I've seen a couple of threads wondering about control configurations. Some people post or just described their configuration, and then saying the pros and cons of this CFG (configuration). I truly believe that control configurations help to develop each users' meta game or at least improve it. Now with this out of the way, I hope that this thread becomes a source for optimal configurations for our favorite bird Falco; however, some people like to play with the GC, Wiimote, or any other set up. This is open to everyone that wants to share and discuss about Falco's set up. In order to keep the format clean and simple for our fellow Falco users, please Follow the next guidelines:

Please Rate this thread if you find it useful.

Gamecube controller: All Standard, Tap-Jump left on.

Wiimote: Used to select "Start Brawl" when I turn the Wii on.

Nunchuk & Classic Controller: Used to collect dust behind my Wii.

P.S. I mostly use R+A to grab since I play often on a controller that has a broked Z button. That's kind of on topic I suppose.

I forgot what control configuration people use for the farthest possible Boost Smash. What was it again?

I use standard, tap jump off. This is mainly due to that I play fox also. Utilt is essential to fox, and tap jump makes it harder to do.

I believe they turned tap jump off and set Left Trigger to Attack

My settings are R Trigger set to Special, everything else normal and Tap jump on.
for easier IAP ^

Tap-jump:On
A button:Attack
B button:Special
C-Stick:Attack
R Trigger:Shield
L Trigger:Shield
Z Button:Grab
X Button:Grab
Y Button:Jump

Might change both the R&L Triggers to Special and the X Button to Shield
Because, it will make my lazers faster & X to Shield because I have to AD and SS.

True, but making L jump really helped my lasers. So you don't need to change 'em both, but it's your controller config, not mine.

yeah 'cause then u can Flick Ur finger over the button to short hop and then just hit back on the controll stick so u back flip than hit R to lazer (Lazer=Better Than Laser).
Sorry for the grammar i don't want to fix everything in posts just like this
it's not worth it

A Button attack
B Button special

sorry i get x and y confused.
I set y to special so it's really easy to do the jump-bside. just have to roll the thumb onto the buttons

Z Button grab
C-Stick smash

At least for me, I find it easier to do my laser tricks with Y as jump. X as jump doesn't let me roll my thumb the way I want. X would require me to actually move my thumb in the middle of the laser. And...noes.

I set X to special for IAP. Works wonders. Trying to IAP consistantly and as low as possible with the normally default controls does not work at all when I try it lmao. I'm sure I could get it down pat if I actually gave it a chance...but...there's really no point. I don't use the X button anyway. Might as well use it for some phantasm tricks.

This is my configuration.

Tap Jump: Off
A - Attack
B - Special
Y - Jump
X - Special
Z - Grab
C-Stick - Smash
LTrig. - Shield
RTrig. - Grab

I have tap off because I have messed up Falco's Forward tilt for the high range kick far to often by going to far up and jumping. At least if I go to far up on the control stick I will Utilt instead not jump and mess up everything.

A for attack has always been standard and used to it.

I have X for special and Y for jump for a few things. It is faster to do the IAP with just your thumb than hitting 2 buttons with 2 hands or something like also it helps with timing of the SHDL for having to jump to B takes a little bit longer.

R is for grab to be able to do the Reverse Boost Grab. The timing works out better as (if doing Dash > pivot > dash attack > grab) you would hit A down faster than you could Grab. Also it just seems easier to hit R + Up instead of Z + Up for the Boost Smash.

C-stick is for smash for much quicker out of shield Dsmash and eaiser to perform the Rising Spike by a little bit.

L for shielding as it seems easier to concentrate with your left hand on only movement related things instead of attacking.

Probably B and Z I really should change. B sometimes messes me up occasionally when I go for a jump with Y to the C-stick to do the rising spike. Z button I just do not use.
