Smash Journeyman
I'm not sure if this was widely known already, but I'd just like to mention that Counter has some sort of range beyond Marth's original Hurtbox. I found this out while countering near the spikes on Rumble Falls. (obviously, I was standing away from the spikes, and when I countered, Marth registered the spikes as a hit, even though he would have been out of range if he had not countered).
It seems as if the visual ring that forms around him becomes his hurtbox for the duration of the counter. This would explain why some moves (such as MK's or Lucario's Side Smash) seem to out range even Counter's huge range even though it would have been a whiff instead of registering a hit. The "ring" so to speak seems to extend upwards and downwards, which is why counter is likely to miss in the air. It would be interesting to use the extended range to counter Mach Tornado as it justgot into range.
I couldn't find this anywhere else, so I assume it's not widely known. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
