The animation was well done for having been done in PS, I know there are other programs that are made for animation. That said though I feel that on the whole the animation was a little choppy. It would really look professional if the moving visuals were just extremely smooth. I dunno if it's the limitations of Photoshop or something but they would look nicer with more frames for movement. The vector portrait at the end (was that of you?) was a little off, it was hard to tell what it was at first. The splatter brush transition at :54 seemed unnecessary as well. I'm not sure why but splatter brush + industrial design seem incongruous. :/ I could be wrong!

The music didn't seem to fit. It was a little too... Sorry, I can't think of the right word. It was a little too upbeat I think. Something more subtle would be less distracting and allow the audience to focus more on the work you're presenting. Maybe a simple, repetitive piano riff? I don't know. I don't know if you planned to make your own music or not.

Your work is great though, and that's the important part. That sketchbook hand-drawn look is really nice, and a lot of your designs were unique and innovative. "Rocking chair" really stood out, great design and play on words. The presentation just has some rough edges, but since it's a teaser that probably means you can iron out some issues before sending it off to anyone if necessary.

Really great portfolio, beats mine by a longshot. Hope that helped.

The problem with animating in Photoshop is that 1 frame isn't 1 frame. 1 Frame in photoshop is like 15 frames, which makes smoother animation over a very short amount of time impossible. I was hoping it would play fast enough to be less noticeable.

I had tried a bunch of different songs, but anything that was somber just seemed odd to me, plus the song is a better reflection of my personality. It was supposed to be fun and energetic. I do see your point, though.

I wanted everything to happen fast to give a taste of my work, with a link to the portfolio if you wanted to really investigate the work. It was all about being flashy. It also had to be a 1 minute video, hence the length of the video. Otherwise everything probably would've been more in depth and slower paced. That's another reason I went with this song, because it was so fast.

Oh, I see. Yeah that's more a limitation of Photoshop than your own fault, then. I can also understand your logic behind the pace you chose.

Well, good luck with the contest and future clients. Hope it goes well!

I'd like to have done it in flash or something, but I don't know how to use it. So I had to stick with Photoshop.

Pretty awesome designs. Wow.

You should sit down and learn Flash. It's pretty easy when you get the hang of it, and it'll really help your portfolio reel when you make a real one.

I'll get to it eventually. I've always wanted to learn it, but with all of my school work I don't have much time.
