pokemon target audience

what do you think the target audience for pokemon is? like what age group the game is aimed at? cos im 13 and i still play pokemon pearl. am i too old to still be playing pokemon?

Pokemon is really targeted towards the pre-teen demographic. Nevertheless, the battle system is actually very deep, so its not uncommon for people much older to still be messing around with pokemon.

Not that I'd ever admit it.

Probably between 6-13. I'm 15 (almost 16) and I've been playing since the R/B/Y days... but as shadydentist said, I'd never admit that to anyone lol

I have been playing since pokemon games came to america... still do. There's nothing wrong with it, there is something wrong with people dictating your life though.

That depends on your definition of "wrong". If you mean that it shouldn't be that way, you're right, but many people my age don't even know what it is.

Really, I think it is aimed at ages 10-15, but made deep enough to last for older ages as well, from 16 to maybe 20ish. Still, I think the people they are trying to get to buy it the most are 10-15 year olds.

QFT. You already know!!!!! Nintendo wouldnt exclude certain gamers, can you imagine a rated "Adults-only" Mario!

I'd say it's really aimed for kids about 8-13ish.

But it's very clear Nintendo knows they have late teen to adult fanbase going at the same time, so they're careful to make the game deep enough for them to enjoy at the same time.

So, I guess reaaaallly aim for anyone who enjoys a good RPG!

It's targeted towards people 6-13 I'd say but people older then that can still enjoy it ALOT.
