Pokemon G/S/C Remakes?

Well, since Pokemon Crystal was my first Pokemon RPG ever, it still remains my favorite. I love that game! And I personally think that we all need a remake for the DS, or maybe even for the Wii. I think that this is very possible, since there are remakes for Red/Blue/Yellow, and there are even several in-game references to Johto. Sunnyshore city is incredibly simular to Olivine City, and the Key Item SecretPotion is said to come from Cianwood. Possibly the most suggestive, however, is that Nintendo supposedly copyrighted the names Dawn Silver and Dusk Gold. Please give me your ideas. Thanks!

I support this idea, G/S remakes for the DS would be an awesome idea, not to mention, it would give me an excuse to start playing my DS again, other than playing it during long, boring car rides. I don't think they should go as far as remaking Crystal, though. They could change it up a bit. As for naming it, it would be something like Golden Sun/ Silver Moon, or something of that nature.

Not to mention Jasmine's cameo in D/P.

Gold Silver and Crystal in my opinion was the high point in the series.

C'mon, 16 badges? Red as a hidden final battle.

Too good.

even though this idea has been repeated 10000000 times I still have to say that G/S/C were amazing games and yes deserve a remake but.....

evabtually the next gen after DS will probably feture amazing things for a handheld and most of us will start thinking the old GBA graphics are bad like most people think the GBC graphics are today. will this lead people into wanting another R/B/Y remake? Or will people want a R/S/E remake? To many remakes could take up time for when the could be developing a new game.

I was thinking of this but... I think it might work if they just cut it off after that for now. I can't see a r/s/e or d/p remake coming out any time soon, but I think I might be able to see them coming out with a g/s/c remake because of the lack of connectivity, and many are unplayable due to internal battery problems.

I too, believe that the G/S/C saga deserves a remake. I remember when I played it for the first time, after I beat the Elite 4 I saw that I could explore Kanto so I was like "WTF? This game is huge!!!"
It would be a real shame if they don't get a remake.

At some location at some point in time.
I agree, the johto games were really good and a remake needs to be made. My only complainents about johto, is the gym leaders were too easy and levels were too low, but one also has to consider that they have the longest storyline in any pokemon game since after beating the elite four, you can then go and beat the gym leaders in kanto. It would be the perfect time since johto comes three years after kanto and we recently got a kanto remake. there are so many johto refrences in d/p, either they are going to make a johto remake or they are just teasing us. GBA has Hoenn and Kanto, DS needs Shinnoh and Johto.

Oh my... GSC remakes? Sigh...
Okay, when I was a kid, I loved playing my Pokémon Crystal, it was the first game from the Metal Generation I had. But, I don't see why they should make a remake of it. Sure, it's retro and all, but look. Every Johto pokémon could be obtained now. Sure, there's data in DP for a Jotho region, and Jasmine's cameo, but what of it? That's like saying GSC remakes were gonna be made for the GBA, with all those cameoes from FR/LG. Maybe one day, they'll make GSC on Virtual Console?

G/S/C on VC is very unlikely asfirst off theres no portable games on VC plus since the DS can play GB games (it can play GBC games right?) it would be just taking away from the DS by putting GB games on VC because now DS is only good for portability and DS games while Wii has NES,SNES,N64,GC and (if what you say turns true)GB,GBC, GBA and wii games.

Hmm... I see where you're getting at. But first, this. GBC on NOT compatible with the DS. Okay? Good. And now... I see this seems to be a sensitive topic to you guys, you guys don't want your dreams to be crushed. But still, the chances of Nintendo actually making a GSC remake is about... 37%. It's sad ,yeah, but that's how it is. Maybe the third 4th gen game will do something about it?

@ bowser king: The DS cannot play GBC games.

I would LOVE to have a g/s/c remake. My friends complain about the lack of creativity in the new pokemon being made. Bringing back g/s/c would be a godsend. No new pokemon, but new attacks, abilities, and remade dungeons would be nice. Going through a brand new "Dark Cave" that requires you to get new HMs in order to progress deeper would be so much fun. Also, the rumors I heard hinted towards the name, "shining silver" and "glimmering gold" as their new titles.

I'm for and against a remake. I'd love a remake, because G/S/C was awesome, but I wouldn't want a remake, because then I'd be tempted to buy it. And with the fact that I'm still trying to finish Diamond, and that I simply don't have time to do ANYTHING other than school work, it'd be waisted money and the game would simply sit on my shelf.

I do think Gold, Silver, and Crystal deserve a remake, although I question how likely it will happen. Even though I would have issues if it does get remade, I'd still like to see it happen.

If the first gen (at least Red/Blue...I really didn't care for the lack of choice in starters in Yellow, as cool as the Pikachu thing was) hadn't been so epic, such great games, G/S/C would be my favorite games. The length of it was amazing, and I think the side quests were the best there. The Team Rocket side plot didn't feel like it was just thrown in, it fit. And I personally liked it.

Unfortunately, it's not happening. I mean, I suppose they could be lying, but in Nintendo Power, issue...*goes to search for the issue*...
...
...
After a very long time of searching, I couldn't find it...but basically, someone said they had heard of a G/S remake in the works, and Nintendo Power basically said that there are no ideas to do such a thing.

Unless they're lying, it's not happening.

@0RLy I knew I had something wrong >.> Then it may turn out that we will get it for VC...

@Firus They only said that it wouldnt be a creative thing to do and said its not a great way to show 'love' for the franchise (or something along the lines of that). They never said they would not make a remake.

Well look at Emerald, It came out after FR/LG, so maybe the third in the DP set will come after G/S/C remakes.
I also believe that this will be the case.

Wow, after i heard Red and Green where getting a remake, i immediatly supported a remake of G/S/C
I think it will come out befor Platnium (its the confirmed name) as so did Fr and Lg which were compatiable with Emerald, so the remakes of G/S/C will probably be compatiable with Platnium

When was the image made? I mean that could be Photo Shopped. I'd love to see a remake though. Pokemon gold and silver are my favorite of the series if wasn't taking things like graphics in account.

One thing I was upset about was when I heard about a R/B remake was that I was hoping for a yellow remake as well, I wasnt to surf with pikachu :(. Hopefully,if there not makeing a crystal remake, they will atleast include all the extra stuff from crystal into the G/S remake.

If I remember, you could catch both Lugia and Ho-oh in both versions. The main one was at level 40, the second one in level 70 in their respective places, Lugia at Whirl Islands (spelling) and Ho-Oh at Ecruteak City's main tower. However, the Suicune story was top tier, and it was possible to catch him knowing he wouldn't flee from battle.

Also, remember that Extreme Speed Dratini? Epic.

And Shiny Gyarados!

Best rival ever. Even tho I prefer Blue, since he's one of my favorite characters inthe game.

... Good old times ...

Is there an AR Code that allows you to edit the region a Pokemon is caught in? It's more likely to be a Photoshop though.

Right - Lugia in Silver was 40, Ho-Oh 70, and the opposite in Gold. For several years I had no idea Sacred Fire was in G/S/C - I thought it was an attack added to the 3rd Gen (since I never had Gold and always caught Ho-Oh at level 70)

Eh...if it's a Photoshop, it's a pretty dang good one. I put it into Photoshop and zoomed in really far, and I see no flaws in the picture. I think it's more likely a hack or something.

Pokesav anyone? Remember you can edit everything in Pokesav, including Location, OT, moves, ID, etcetera.
Yeah, that's probably what it is.

There have been wishful threads like this on the internet since FR/LG were officially announced, and petitions to Nintendo too. Yet we G/S/C fans (and that includes almost all pokemon fans, as they are the most popular games) are still left in the dark about possible games. That Whole Dawn Silver Dusk Gold thing still gives me hope as emo as the rest of this post sounds though.

The Bug Catching game was full of lulz. I remember someone beat me with a lv 18 Caterpie =\
 I remember times like that so well, there were so many minigames and fun stuff to do. Plus you could go in the daycare to see your pokemon. Why cant they do that now, although it would be hard, I would love it. FR/LG and R/S/E had some mini games (dodrio thingy and the jumping one, berry crushing) but most of them required a wireless addapter, which is rare to get unless you got FR/LG. D/P eliminted all of them, theres not much left to do once your done. Amity square gets lame, battle tower gets tiresome and a lot of other junk. Why couldnt they include the stuff from previous games even, but instead they got rid of them all.

Is this true?

G/S/C was my favorite generation of Pokemon.

It would restore my love for the series if they remade those games, seriously. Once again would I be clocking in over a thousand hours into that game.

Remaking them after the release of Platinum would not follow the pattern of Ruby/Sapphire->FireRed/Leaf/Green->Emerald, but that's just speculation. :(
