Pokemon for me has gotten really stale

It's been almost 10 years, and we have still not seen the Pokemon series evolve, the DS handled real time strategy battles and the move actually hitting an enemy in games like Kingdom Hearts. But Pokemon still used the primitive gameplay engine from the Game Boy era. Now that the 3DS is capable of console like Final Fantasy battles, why the heck is GameFreak still using that primitive battle engine, and not making 3D overworlds, that just proves that GameFreak is lazy, every franchise has to evolve sometime or it gets staler than old bread, (I'm talking to you, Call of Duty and Madden)

Well, the overworld looks extremely primitive, you want a good looking 3D World, look at Ocarina of Time 3D, Pilotwings Resort, or Star Fox 64 3D,

It has gotten stale, in my opinion its all the new Pokemon, I think they should make a remake of Red, Blue, and Yellow! Although if those bad... maybe Pokemon is just tired

The Pokémon battle system has stood the test of time. Pokémon XY has 2 million sales in it's first few days, and there is little reason/incentive for Game Freaks to change anything.

I guess, still should make a remake of Red, Blue, and Yellow though in the 3D format

Don't mess with success. Pokémon is still fun because they've simply been expanding upon the same concept.

The overworld is also very 3D, with differing camera angles depending on what location you are in, Lumiose City being the prime example.

X and Y introduced many new elements to the series in, Mega-Evolutions, Group Battles, and so on. I can understand if the basic formula of the game is boring you, I myself have the same problem with Mario, but to call them lazy is a bit harsh, when they try to add at least one new thing to the game with almost every Gen.

Also, could you define what you mean by, "evolve"? Are you saying that they should change the game from a JRPG to an Action RPG or something? Because they did something very similar recently, though, it's a Tactical RPG rather than an Action one.

Pokemon is an evolving franchise. Pokemon X and Y has better online functionality than any other Pokemon game so far. It also includes easy-to-use tools for new players to get into the competitive scene such as Super Training and the Destiny Knot. Before now, being able to appreciate the depth of competitive Pokemon was quite a chore.

The turn-based battles aren't going anywhere. They are not primitive by a long shot considering how popular the multiplayer aspect of Pokemon has become. It simply works and does not need to be removed. If you are not a fan of turn-based RPGs, there is nothing wrong with that, and there is nothing left I can say.

I remember hoping as a kid for real time battles. Sadly, I don't think Gamefreak will ever take the idea seriously. The series does evolve over time, but the series doesn't evolve very much between iterations. I was really disappointed that Gen 4 didn't at least have moving sprites like Gen 5 and it took them until Gen 6 to even have a decent 3D over world, but at least now they have 3D models for all the Pokemon.

If the Pokemon battle engine was changed, no one would play anymore.

Well, I don't. But I know someone who does.
And, by the looks of it. They have fun. Sounds like a great hobby to get into. I'm just not the kinda guy with that patience (and yes, I am aware of Pokemon Showdown).

You can't go calling Gamefreak lazy just because they didn't give you the RTS game with the 3D overworld you wanted.

If anything, the way the series evolved showed that they started trying to aid people into attempting competitive battling with breeding mechanics (although why do that if you can guarantee Pokemon with RNG abuse) while tweaking their battle mechanics and introducing new things with each generation. X/Y makes that more apparent than ever.
