Every single one. Every character you think would be good for DLC, or in the next game, or in games after that. Whatever characters you WANT. Include cut veterans (Ice Climbers, Snake) and newcomers (Isaac, Cranky Kong), but not confirmed characters (Mario, Lucas).

This is for a popularity poll, where I attempt to gauge the popularity of characters. Please keep arguments or discussion outside of this thread. I just want a list.
If you already responded on GameFAQs or Reddit, feel free to ignore this (in fact, please do, to avoid falsifying data.)

Wolf O'-Fricking-Donnell. He's literally Unique Falco Who Could Use a Wolfen FS. Need I say more~?

Spoiler: Tier B

Dixie Kong and King K. Rool top out this tier for me. Y'know, out of all the Mario subseries, Donkey Kong is definitely the most deserving in terms of newcomers.

Honestly, the Pokémon Trainer trio would be incomplete without the likes of Squirtle and Ivysaur. Maybe fully evolved for the sake of Megas, but still.

Spoiler: Tier C

I can't help but feel that, HW or no, Impa would fit nicely as a completely flipped-around Sheik. Magic Knight, anyone?

The EVIL KNIGHT BOYZ of F-Zero, Black Shadow, would be my absolute favorite pick. Either that, or at least make Blood Falcon a real alt.

Fighting bitterly over the top C-seat are Sceptile, Marshal, and Snake. Sue me on the last one for vet bias, but I think I judged the latter fairly enough based on his Smash history.

Spoiler: Tier D

Rundas, Rundas, Rundas. Now that summer Ridley is gone, I'd wager our favorite cold-smith bounty hunter could be the greatest bet for Metroid character numero tres.

An even better choice than Masked Man or the currently-secondary Jeff, Porky could easily stand a playable spot. This time out, I'd want him in his--whoops, sorry! No spoilers!

Krystal is a lot less important than Wolf, but welcome nonetheless; if she gets in, staff-and-ammo combo (Emphasis on the staff part) or bust. I wonder if a Krazoan raid would serve as this vixen's Final Smash?

Inklings. Super recent for a Smash appearance, but that also happened to . Their moveset would get some serious cues from Munomario's train of thought, making such a puzzle quite easier!

Last but luckily, Y'ALL FRICKERS NEED SOME SHANTAE UP IN YOUR CASE. Her moveset potential and decently-explored mythos are huge assets all by themselves. The things holding this half-genie back are her indie (Although Nintendo-loyal) status and being TRULY AMERICAN in origin (And therefore best-known to English speakers). Other than that, I'd at least give Shantae a B+ in viability!

Spoiler: Tier E

Zant from Twilight Princess would be a wonderful idea if it weren't for Swine!Ganon being even better. Speaking of evil, Giygas the Mewtwo Stu (Mother 1 form) should be more than okay if Sakurai won't consider Porky.

Although a new Sonic/Sega character would be nice, I dream of Shantae Bub(blun), the adorable drago-saur-thingy from Square Enix crony TAITO. If only characters like the Ice Climbers were allowed, I'd take it one step further and introduce Bob alongside his brother. Either way, attacking with element bubbles, Puzzle Bobble catapults, and even other classic Taito items would actually be about as badace as Pac-Man did it.

Spoiler: Tier F

My most creative Nintendo-newcomer thought of all: that Gym Leader crush of mine known as Misty! Yeah, she could be in her HGSS/New Kanto game form, and hopefully even summon Greninja as one of her three teammates! Shame that the Pokémon Trainer... (Dramatic beat) ...can't and won't exist in Sm4sh. Better luck next time, honey...

Although Zero and Phoenix Wright would be even better off as Smash stars than a certain fighting game pioneer, that's why they ain't happening. It's sort of a necessary evil on Ryu's part. Kind of lame given that you could have been able to press opponents into oblivion with Wright dearest.

Honorable mentions go to Mini Kangaroo, who would be way too out there to deserve a mere DLC spot in this title. If I could, I'd have the balls to put her no lower than B - the unsung hero of Nintendo's game history!

I'd really like to point out that I am neither asking for who you think is LIKELY (the question is not likelihood, it's popularity; would you be happy if the character was announced? Then put them in.), nor who you think should be DLC for THIS game (any character who you would want in any Smash game under any circumstances should be included, not only characters you want for DLC.

And while it's an interesting list, I'm also not looking for justifications or explanations, or a structured "most to least" list of any sort. I just want to know what characters you want, ideally in order of franchise, since that's how I'm counting them up.

Also, "a Sonic character" is not useful data and I'm forced to discard it. A generic series slot is not the same as an individual character and I'm measuring popularity of characters, not of franchises.
