Yeah, you can probably find one for $10-$20 at Gamestop, depending on if your willing to buy used.
But I have a lot of trouble getting one that feels comfortable for me, I've had the same one since i started, and if it ever breaks, my tech skill will be lacking for quite a while, I'm sure.

They don't sell new Wavebirds anymore in stores, so you're out of luck if you want a brand new sparkling Wavebird.

My Wavebirds are good, but I just need a replacment for the battery cover, but it works fine.

I might get 2 Wii White controllers, since I only have the 3 controllers

Sorry if this is considered as bumping, but are there any good replacements for the Wavebird battery cover?

I feel a lot more confortable with wired controllers. There are brand new Nintendo made controllers (words of advice: 99% of third party controllers are UTTER CRAP) on Amazon.com

I believe I got brand new ones for my friends and myself for about 20-25 dollars each. Since these are sold by Amazon themselves, you may be able to get free shipping if you buy two or more at once. I got these a month or two before Brawl's release. I'm pretty sure they still have them (you can probably only get them in silver color though)

Also if you are dedicated on fixing your controller and comfortable with soldering, you can always open up your controller. Cleaning may actually fix some problems. If that doesn't solve everything, you can always look for replacement parts (buttons, etc.) and replace them by soldering.
