Doesn't brawl+ have some flaws?

Mainly- Doesn't it make spikes insanely broken?
It also nerfs all uairs and some backthrows as kills.
You get rid of lot's of infinites and stuff, but it's so easy to combo, you can go form >30% to death.

Did you just create melee 2.0?
This seemed great, to fix tripping, pokemon fatigue and stuff, but why just remake an old game? Really, move on.
If I'm totally wrong, whatever. But I'd like to know.

Not to sound mean but you are TOTALLY wrong.

No it didn't nerf uairs to kill. I use uair to kill a lot with peach. Also with no stale moves there really shouldn't be a excuse on not being able to kill.

Also you can't go from 30% to death. DI'ing and teching is viable to get out of combos.

It's not melee 2.0 Are people forgetting that even the 64 version had hitstun?

Spikes are not broken.

Watch some vids of the recent codeset. The game is much more fast paced and rewarding.

Smash64 had more hitstun than Melee, Brawl, and Brawl+ combined,. Think about that before you call Brawl+ "Melee 2.0."

Honestly, the only thing I could see as being from Melee would be non-sweetspotting ledges and dash dancing. Everything else is just tweaking the game to be better.

Hi Man of Popsicle, welcome to Brawl+.

It's seams like you have a few misunderstandings. I'm not sure what you're saying about spikes being insanely broken, as they're quite the opposite right now -- they're not strong enough! Have a peek at this video to see why we plan on overhauling parts of the Meteor Canceling system:

Also, yes it is easier to combo than you might be used to. What you have to realize is that Brawl has very powerful DI, though, so as long as your opponent is as good at defense as you are at offense, you won't be experiencing too many inescapable 0-to-deaths. We've seen a few good ones in the last couple weeks, but 0-to-deaths are the exception, not the norm. This is hardly SSB 64.

You'll find that back throws are actually better killers now due to generally increased gravity and the way that Brawl handles KO's at boundaries while you're in hitstun (Complicated, I won't get into it). It's true that vertical attacks get a slight nerf, but this is no more than 3-5% against most characters. Mostly placebo affect.

As for being Melee 2.0, we're taking gameplay and character elements from 64 and Melee, and maintaining Brawl's own nuances. It's more than just the sum of it's parts, especially just Melee -- it's an evolution of many sources into its own game.

You should give it a shot -- I guarantee you'll have fun. If you need any help installing it or have other questions about Brawl+ just PM me or visit our IRC chat

Perhaps one of the greatest things about being a part of Brawl+ is that if the community perceives a flaw, it can be fixed! Shell's post is a good post so read it :)

Either way, one's own notion of something that is 'Flawed' is different from person to person.
