Please Critique My Fox! Fabulous Videos!

I'm finally feeling good enough about my Fox to put up some videos (i.e., I'm not SDing every game anymore). I still have a long way to go to reach my potential, but I feel I'm making progress. Please watch and critique some of these if you guys have time. Please be specific if you can. I know some of my biggest problem areas are recovery and edgeguarding... I also have trouble dealing with Falco's lasers.

I get beaten pretty badly in a couple of these, sometimes due to very stupid mistakes. But I think they're still pretty good matches to watch...

I think this is the better of the Marth matches even though it was much closer.

not too bad, but try to shine more for mind game purposes, and shffl nairs should either end with shine then wdash or another shffl nair, don't run away after you do one, all in all, not bad, you will get better, i'm sure this advice sux! and i'm sure someone will come to correct me and give wayy better advice

also luv that uair, esp against marf.

Not really a whole lot to say, just get more tourney experience to get better really. I'll point out a few things i notice, but they're mostly just personal preference. Besides some things that were obviously technical mishaps, you're pretty well on your way to doing **** well (if you already don't). The matches i watched were Falco-DL, Sheik-BF, Marth-FD1.

Don't SHDL near edges when they're close to you. It gets you killed.
If marth Side-B's under you on the edge, shinespike his ***.
Try wavelanding after double jumping sometimes
Drillshines & Grabs beat a CCing sheik, where Nairs fail epicly.
Watch out for falling through platform traps - the sheik tended to get you hard with those.
SHL works well against sheik, and FHDLFF (Full Hop Double Laser Fast Fall) works well against Platform campy sheiks.
Wow, that guy's Falco was kinda playing like trash. I'm not going to comment on it. Just get falco off the edge, and keep him there.

Hope this helps, i know it's not a lot, it's just a few things you might want to keep in mind.

Well jab cancelling is just using the IASA frames of the jab to re-jab. I don't really ever do that as if the jab hits, it would be pointless to rejab. I just dash from the IASA frames and JC usmash. If the jab gets shielded or something I guess I would usually just JC grab.

And my habit of jabbing so much comes from maining ICs, since it's pretty much their only good approach...

Yeah who'd see an ICs player approaching with a grab? Totally not me. I don't think even PC/ M2K/ Cort would see it coming, i mean, it's so unexpected.

Your match on FD vs. MArth

You have to be less greedy with your uairs. When facing Marth, you should instinctively be able to judge when the next one won't link. Usually if it involves alot of running, you shouldn't attempt another one because Marth will was smack you away with that crazy hitbox.
Your dshl is good, but you have to put it to more use. Lure him to you, instead of doing it randomly. Stay on one side and just laser spam a bit. Mix up fast-falled full hops with empty shorthops w/ random DJs in between.

actually, if there's a lot of running involved in linking Uairs, it's probably going to work, since they'll have more stun lower. If they go straight up, it probably wont work.

you'd be surprised how often it can happen, some people are just going to jam away and down when they realize they're going to be hit, and that'll SDI the jab. Then there are those people who try to SDI every freaking combo i have.

And thanks for the comments guys, no matter how basic...I actually don't know a lot about Fox and haven't been using him long, so I don't know basic stuff like to drill Sheik instead of NAIR.

How should I edgeguard Falco? I always seem to miss or get phantasm spiked when I try to intercept with a shine... If he up-Bs back I just bair or dsmash, depending on where he goes. But phantasm recoveries are trickier and I can't seem to edgeguard them very well.

And yeah I don't really have much strategy with the lasers. I actually try to laser and play aggressive at the same time, just tacking on damage when I can. I got over 80 damage in that Marth match from lasers. So are you saying I should camp more or what?

Yeah.. I finally read doraki's thread and I know DI,SDI,ASDI all of em are very useful specially ASDI for edgeteching purposes and instant directional change.
