Hello Yoshi Boards!

I'm Xnpio.

My buddy P-Rice & I are starting to try to be competitive brawlers, and we're posting vids online for the first time.

So far, we've only got one..(sorry, more are coming as soon as they're uploaded, probably tomorrow) But we would really appreciate it if you could help us out by giving him (I'll be posting in PT boards for feedback on my performance) some feedback on his performance..

This definitely isn't one of our best matches. Keep that in mind. :p

Anyway, here's the video.

There will be more coming shortly!

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated!

Note: Sorry if this is in the wrong area.. I noticed the Yoshi video critique thread hasn't been touched since April...

-Learn to DI, and use uair to momentum cancel instead of airdodging.

-Off the ledge get more mixups than djad, and when you do djad, wait to use your air dodge until they are about to hit you, not at the beginning of the dj. You got punished for it atleast once, at higher levels you will be punished almost every time for it.

-Space more on your bairs.

-I don't think I saw any pivot grabs...

-And work on your chain grabbing.

Anyway, theres a few general things. I'll do more tomorrow if no one else does.

Also, you can just post in the official video thread. It's stickied, and it's active.

i saw too much bair. if you know your opponent is going to shield, you can punish their shield with a DJC egglay. you can also use a rising DJ nair, so that you can peck at them without being punished.

when you egg toss you need to slide it, which is done by canceling a dashing jump with egg toss. this helps create an adjustment to spacing so that your opponent will not be able to punish you as easily.

know which characters you can grab release to usmash on, since it's not possible on all of them. =P

pivot grabbing will be your best friend. be sure not to try to abuse it, because you'll become predictable and you'll get punished. use it to punish landings or unsafe approaches.

overall, it seems you just need to take a look at our guide compiled by sharky, as well as looking in the video archive for scatz's vid on advanced techniques.
