I just wish Sony would acquire more independent studios.
According to a recent article I read, Sony has 15 studios doing stuff exclusively (likely for all systems, not just PS3/PSN), which is more than Nintendo and Microsoft combined. A bit impressive (nevermind size of Studio, as Nintendo's in-house dev team prolly dwarfs almost all the others that do exclusive stuff).

I'm trying to decide what to get, as it seems Haze is delayed until next year (gamefaqs says 1/18, I think). Might get the Resistance Expansions (both map paks for $8 is a decent deal), possibly the Warhawk one (not sucking me in as it first did... just missing that X factor, though I knew that from the start), and maybe Pain or Everyday Shooter (half to support the titles as a gamer, half to play them). Might do Prestige Mode in COD4 for the hell of it. Either way, I have two months to burn 'til Brawl arrives.

And I'll rent Uncharted later this month.

Just spent another $2 on Pain to unlock two skins. They are actually fun to use and slightly different.

Warhawk expansion is $8. Not bad for almost 11 new layouts. The new map is HUGE. Not sure what you're missing with Warhawk. I am having a blast. Join a clan. Also, you got Rachet and Clank? GREAT GREAT game.

****, all this stuff is out and I have no money, so no funds in my PSN account. :sigh: I might as well rent Uncharted also since the demo was awesome.

Right now I'm replaying Folklore, seriously I hated this game when I bought it back in October, but now I'm completely drawn into it.

Thats true, although I was wish there was a little more voice acting, it's still plausible though.

And I might have exaggerated a bit, about how I said R&C being the best game on the PS3. Not saying it sucks or anything, but after awhile it got really boring. Still a great game though.

Wow, I can't wait for this expansion.

Anyone got High Velocity Bowling? It's loads fun, and should keep you plenty busy. It's a bit hard because you have to actually use real bowling physics. (Spin, power, etc) Just aiming slightly and throwing the ball with all your power won't help.

Got the latest issue of PSM.

MGS4 and Metal Gear Online are now together in one package.

If there were any doubts before, the game is now a system seller for certain.

One of the things that caught my eye about multiplayer is what was called a "nanomachine-based SOP system, which will enable you to sense the location and status of your teammates - and even share their special skills - at all times." The article said that you can customize your character to have up to three skills. The two mentioned were Marathon which aids in sprinting, and Narc which reveals the position of the enemy currently targeting you. Also, there's supposedly over 100 different weapons to acquire and use and both skills and weapons level up the more you play.

Epic. As if MGS would be anything less.

On a completely sidenote. Everyday Shooter feels worth the $10. Pain... not so much, though still fun.

Wow, go Konami. Might be $70, but I'd have paid $60 each anyway because I really like MGS and MGO is well worth it.

Pain is a party game at best. It's fun playing Horse, Mime toss, and such. Try gaining all the trophies.

I am so sorry for the double post, but for some reason I can't edit my previous one. :(

Anyways, this looks interesting.

Kart Attack is a brand new racing game destined for the Playstation Network. This revolutionary title includes stunning next generation graphics surpassing those found in many AAA titles, and a driving model which is both easy to get to grips with and fun to play. Whether you're challenging opponents online, trying to beat the stunningly intelligent AI characters or improving your own times at one of our exclusive themed circuits, you're sure to have fantastic fun with the gaming sensation which is Kart Attack.

It looks better than Mario Kart. lol

Anyhoo I also found this.

The streams have finally crossed . According to French research group Tns-Sofres PS3 has overtaken the X360 in terms of total marketshare. This is what they disclosed in their article in French :-

"PlayStation domine toujours de très loin le marché avec encore un tiers des foyers joueurs équipés de PS2 et 13% de foyers équipés en PS1. La Wii est juste derrière, avec 11% de foyers équipés. La Xbox équipe 10% des foyers joueurs, la GameCube 8%, la PS3 5% et la Xbox 360 se maintient à 4%. "

which is translated as :-

"PlayStation dominates always by far the market with still a third of the hearths players equipped with PS2 and 13% of hearths equipped in PS1. Wii is right behind, with 11% of hearths equipped. Xbox equips 10% with the hearths players, GameCube 8%, the PS3 5% and Xbox 360 is maintained to 4%. "

I'm actually quite surprised.

That must mean either Europe or France specifically.

Kart attack looks like it might be fun really. If it had weapons it would be a live action mario kart.

Mother ****ER!

Ok, so I just spent $20 on PSN stuff and my haul for today is 2 new themes (Pain), 3 videos, Toy House Demo, Area 51 demo, Snakeball demo, Warhawk (PS1 version), Warhawk Expansion, Mesmerize: Distort, and some other Eye game.

Wow, I remember when I used to lament over lack of games, now I am lamenting over lack of money.

Also, they redid the store set-up, again, so now all the new stuff is in their own personalized folders. Great day indeed.

The Toy House Demo sucked IMO, and all the themes they have now do also (Except for mine ;) ). Other than that I need to download the expansion pack, although I have no funds in my wallet. :C

I really wish my parents weren't so stingy about putting in their credit card information.

In a way, I wished the PSN store looked more organized and nicer looking like the XBOX live market place. But I'm sure it will change over time.

I get my themes from AllPS3themes.com or something like that. Great site and you can surf it on your PS3 and download straight to console. I think Chill may have even referenced me there.

PSN is going to always be undergoing changes especially as we get closer and closer to the release of Home. Just deal with it now and let it try to find its own design instead of ripping off Live. I think the different approach it took towards a store really is paying off, though I never really played any Live games.

It's based off Second Life. You have your apartment with your Trophy room (which implies they will be implementing challenges into games to earn trophies) as well as some short mini-games in a lounge area such as Bowling, boxing, pool, and I think I saw Pinball. It is extremely customizable and totally free and online. Not bad to me.

CK's post count makes me think of my personal mission of getting 9,999 kills in Tales of the Abyss...

I heard of Home a while ago, it sounds great, almost like a hub you can go to in-between gaming sessions or something to fiddle with as you unwind after gaming. I'd check it out if I had a PS3.

So, the trophies are like achievements? Thats cool. But I assume we have to update our games though with add on's.

Now off of hiatus, the PSN store is being updated today along with two weeks worth of Rock Band DLC.

Reading on some game sites, Sony is polling the Asian market (who love MMOs ever-so-much despite subscriptions) for the possibility of a subscription based PSN service, where you pay one monthly fee for all you can download. I say "HELL YES!!" Though I was adamantly against a fee like XBox Live, this fee would be on the games and downloads, which even with the yearly Live fee you still pay for the games. So free multiplayer (as it should be) and a monthly fee for games? I'm in. I hope they keep that optional though as I am sure not all would want that.

How? For say $30 a month (the price of 3 games) you get ALL the games. Warhawk, Pain, High Velocity Bowling, Calling All Cars, etc. Seriously, I see nothing wrong with it.

OMG, you are a tool.
The difference btw MMOs and PSN subscription is the MMOs has set requirement and responsibilities to cover; on the other hand, PSN could just pull a million of tetris copycats (Sony specialty) and call it a year. Hell, it's no secret that a lot of the Live and future PSN online-market-game were originally designed for the desktop, and if you are reading this from a PC (yea go #### yourselves Lisa users) then why bother with PSN in the first place.
And oh yea did I mention that you are a tool? Anybody "HOME?" Ridge Racer anybody? Free Online? I just can't wait for Afrika. So, let's go attack the weak point for massive damage.

A. Gametap works quite well and it's the exact same principle as Sony is offering.
B. Multiplayer is still free. This affects the store which you would pay for anyway just with a subscription you'd pay less for more.

Yea, but it's PSN man, tell me that you haven't got burned by it at least once: btw the Home delays and half baked firmwares.
Home delays don't affect me because I wasn't expecting it anytime soon. It's free and I have seen ****ty services fail due to rushing. Pretty much every bad firmware has had an amazing one. On the plus side, they are finally realizing that instead of releasing numerous firmware versions; they will release a lot larger ones, but less often. Also, PSN is free, all of the stuff they do is to reward customer support. If they charge a subscription, which as stated would be just for PSN games, they would afford to offer more games, pay for bandwidth for large titles, etc. If you don't buy PSN games, it has no affect on you whatsoever, everything else would remain free.

PSN updates yesterday was pretty good:
1. Stardust HD demo
2. Kane and Lynch demo (meh)
3. PSP games added for downloading to forgo going through your PC.
4. Usual GH3 and RB updates
5. Folklore downloads

Also, some good news for Sony:
http://kotaku.com/344097/ps3s-now-made-for-half-the-price

Now for every 40GB they sell, they break even, which explains why they were pushing PSN sales, the 40 GB model, and first party titles so much.
