Playing PM on a Wii U

I kept reading that playing pm on wii u is really the same as with the wii
But, is it possible to play with a gc controller?
I heard that it is but there's like input delay or something
I haven't tried it yet because I wanna know if I need to like use homebrew or something
I have a Mayflash gc controller adapter and a 2gb sd card
I tried using the adapter for brawl but it didn't work

Ok, in hindsight this was poorly written
Can I play PM on a wii u with a gamecube controller?
Does it have lag if I use a Mayflash adapter with it?
If it's no for both of those do I need to use homebrew?

I don't think its possible to play p:m on a wiiu with a gamecube controller right now

Using a connector to connect a Gamecube controller into a Wii Remote, yes

You could use a wii u fightpad. Its a first party classic controller thats int eh shape of a gc controller. But the x and y buttons are a obit fatter, the c stick isnt a nub, its a normal joystick, and there is l, r, zl, and zr buttons. So kinda like the hori pad gc controllers. Its waht i use for sm4sh
