Isn't online mode for Wii already been shutdown?
Yes, Nintendos wifi service has been discontinued, but there is a popular hack that allows players to go online even after this discontinuation known as "Wiimmfi".
I'm not really an expert of knowing everything about hacks. I didn't know about this one until now.

Yes I do. I have them running Project M.
If you use homebrew it's as simple as running one app. It works on most games with previous wifi support and will patch it once you run this with your Brawl disc inserted: http://smashboards.com/attachments/autowiimmfipatcher0-3-zip.41659/

Also, if I download that Homebrew Channel thing, wouldn't that make Project M not playable anymore?
You need to have two SD cards sadly (one for Project M completely and another for Brawl).
That's not true. With the app (which I'm currently uploading) you can reliably run both on the same card. Just boot up the Project M app when you want to play that and the wimfii patcher app for Brawl.
So, you put both Project M and the wiimmfi together in one SD card?
Yes I did. The files don't contradict one another since it's just an app instead of the alternative (running wimfii with the same file system that PM runs in)

Huh, didn't know that (surprised) well never really tweaked around Project M (as you can see I'm in a Brawl thread) but thank you very much I learned something new to add if someone needs help with Brawl and Project M Apps.

You're not entirely wrong, the hackless version isn't like that. The only thing is that the way that you load wimfii isn't through the patcher and is done in the same way that Project M is loaded, aka file patch code. This is just a more efficient way to get games loaded with it and works with almost all games that have wifi support, so you don't have to get your own file set for each game.
I've just been busy as of late (helping family prepare for thanksgiving stuff), so that's the reason you haven't heard from me for the last couple days. I won't be able to Brawl until either tomorrow or the day after that.
