select the pen tool, then load up shapes. hold shift when you're making the star shape, it'll give a perfect star. it also works with squares/circles and any other shape. same with the square/circle selection tool.

oh and daysoo, don't mind the blue in the image above...i was messing with some gradient maps >_>

edit: zio, i'll upload it when done, i wish you can see the background before i merged all 3 layers together. D:
i'll work in layers, i have a bad habit of merging everything into one...

BTW - Soda, I never knew that with the shift button. I never attempted to make patterns cause it took to long to straighten the shape and align it with other. Now it's easier.

What would you prefer to have? The checkers, or the swerved lines in the background? I can take one of the two out. Maybe that'll clear things up for you?

To be honest, I'm at a loss. I'm blocked. If I change, I think I would completely start from the beginning again, an overhaul, and I think that's just too much. I've already spent some hours trying to get this together and this is about as good as I can get it.

Make the stars and ink blot more subtle.
I feel like they're overpowering the design. :x
Try and reduce the size of the name and it's decorations a bit, too.

Try taking out the white stars.
Color in the buttons with solid colors, as I'm replacing my stock buttons, too.
Add some detail around the top left panel and name, somehow.
Definitely making progress!

The buttons will get cut out, but I'm buying new buttons and I'd like an idea of what colors would look best for the buttons and ball top.
That said, you get the cutouts anyway, so if you get clear buttons you can put the cutouts inside the buttons so they fit the design.
