Me and a friend play pikachu and pichu. We found out that if you do a VERY slight jump then go into the up-B to either side, when you land it will reduce the ending lag by approximately half. It's hard to do but it IS possible to do constantly with practice. I haven't seen anything about this on the boards or on the guides so I am assuming it's not well known about. If I can I will try to get videos of it. but I thinks it works well when trying to close gaps and make fast grabs and up smashes. Tell me what you think.

You still have too much lag to do anything remotely useful. It's been discussed a lot, and quick attack doesn't have enough priority/knockback for you to be able to do anything after the lag. Pikachu's quick attack Super wavedash however...

hmm, i really dont know about using quick attack for anything other than recovery/edgehog. i mean sure, it might catch your opponent off guard sometimes when you use it to get around...but there's a noticeable start up lag to it which makes it harder to catch people by surprise. not to mention somebody might just wavedash back and fsmash

well, i don't use as an initial starting attack i know that there still is some lag there but, i use it when i need to cover distance quickly to set up for another hit. i found it to be quite successful for me when done properly. but personally i think it works better with pichu.

I used it for a little while... The lag isn't horrible, but it's not terribly useful for me to ground attack, then quick attack afterwards. Occasionally I'll use it after an aerial near the edge, and try to edge-cancel it so it pushes my opponent off the ledge... Which kind of isn't the same thing... lemme start over lol.

It's useful for doing something random, and like 50 times more useful in application for pichu unfortunately, even when you miss the timing.

It's flashy, and nothing's wrong with that right ;x???

Epok you should come to SAD this weekend D=!!

or u could do the quick attack alil off the ground, land right at the tip of a level and fsmash right anther? haha its not really sumthing u can do on command. I've found the spot on battlefield, its just u need the right height to ue the kwik attack. so pulling this out on command prolly wont happen

it is possible. I did it just now reading this thread. But, I don't find it practical.

Best uses for Quick attack are: Recovery, edgehog and Gimping

Not necessarily for movement but, if you can get it to work practically then let us know lol. It might just be too hard to do to make it practical (do it consistently).

Oh I just thought of something this could be used for! Let's say you're walking away from the ledge (person has to know at least a little how to fight a pikachu) and he thinks you're going to quick attack to the ledge, so you go back, and instead of going on the ledge you go forward again and he doesn't sweetspot, letting you fsmash or usmash! :O

I guess it would be a good mindgame but, the way you described it seemed situational so it's more of a trick than anything else.

I know its been a while didn't pay the internet bill :chuckle:

i would like to incorporate it into my game even if its just a little, more techniques to me means more possibilities so i don't like to rule it out all together. by the way Anther when I stop being broke i will be out there all the time. I am gonna have something right before brawl is out so i will let you know.

Yeah, it's not bad, just not especially good and situational. If you can incorporate it and make it awesome, but all means do. he just has a fast enough dash as it is to get around, and quick attacking through someone has 0 hit stun and knockback, so they can instantly punish you if you're in range. Fanciness is always cool though.
