HUEHUEHUEHUEHUEHUECrap, you beat me to this.
There won't be, if it is comparable with circle pad pro, you can use that for a c-stick.Many of us used the C-stick/Right analog stick to do Dairs without forced fast falling and even other aerials and smash attacks. I'm honestly hoping for a small sleek cool device to be revealed later that gives Smash 3DS a right Analog directly under the ABYX buttons and a Z shoulder button over R, even if I had to take it off to close the 3DS I wouldn't care. With default though, my controls would be L - Shield, R - Grab
I mean something more compact, they intentionally made circle pad pro to be big like a Wii U gamepad. I'd like to the extra stick to be "under" ABXY rather than to the right. There won't be, if it is comparable with circle pad pro, you can use that for a c-stick.
Nintendo won't fork out the money for that. They only do when it is necessary to make idiots shut up (see: GameCube Wii u adaptor)I mean something more compact, they intentionally made circle pad pro to be big like a Wii U gamepad. If you played with a certain type of controller for a game for years, you'd probably want to stick with it. Gamecube controllers unlike the Wii Classic pro doesn't need to be plugged into a Wii remote which consumes batteries. One controller is less cumbersome to carry than two. Plus the design of ABXY on Classic pro is like Playstation, while the Gamecube ABXY looks quite different.Nintendo won't fork out the money for that. Well I'm not a nice person. Using a circle pad pro is comfortable, and it would be the same distance to reach right with your thumb as it would be down for a c-stick.If you played with a certain type of controller for a game for years, you'd probably want to stick with it. ps. The "idiots" incorporate all competitive smash players, from both melee and brawl. That's not very nice.
True simply a different area would take getting used to, but it's mostly what it is blocking. I think my thumbs may tire or it may be to awkward to reach over the circle pad's stick to press ABXY. Since you own one, how would smash which mostly uses ABXY feel while reaching over circle pad pro?Well I'm not a nice person. It would take a little getting used to, but it wouldn't be half bad.
Ah frick, I forgot about that little tidbit on the 3DS. Considering how many consecutive hours I'll sink into this I really hope that'll be an option. I don't want my thumb to fall off O_OThe buttons match what they've usually been, but I just wonder how it'll feel. Pressing the A button for extended periods (a few minutes) hurts my thumb, so I hope we can swap buttons. I would make Y my standard attack, and I'd use the D-pad instead of the circle pad, if those options are available.
Maybe we'll get D-Pad smash?I'm sure that controls will be customizable.
The only thing I'm worried about is not ebing able to make Y "Smash Attack" or something. I don't want to smash my 3DS's joystick in order to perform basic functions.
When I played Brawl, I had my Classic Controller set so that a was jump, b was attack, y was special, and x was shield. L and ZL were shield too, while R and ZR were grab.I played it yesterday and it feels fine. The only thing I would change, personally, is switch the L- and R-triggers. I've always used the L-trigger to shield.
Also, I think it may feel more natural if the B-button were assigned to attacks, the X-button were assigned to specials and the Y- and A-buttons were assigned to jumping. But I had no problem with the buttons as they were after about 20sec of playing.
The D-pad is under the Circle pad, it'd be awkward to take your hands off the Circle pad therefore stopping movement. It wouldn't be impossible, but the D-pad could be slightly more difficult since you have to "press" it as opposed to sliding a stick plus it being under your movement hand. But it'd still be nice as an option to try out.Maybe we'll get D-Pad smash?
Get used to play the game without a "c-stick" replacement? So I noticed something...The 2ds doesn't have a CCP.Any ideas as too how to make it work?I was thinking make the d-pad=c-stick.Then taunts would be gone.Taunt is select button I guess.
I guess I'll have to.I'll miss doing forward air backwards and non fastfall dair'sGet used to play the game without a "c-stick" replacement?
From what I've searched you can't buy a cpp for 2ds. But I've heard you can modify the original cpp although it requuires some "woodwork", just google "2ds circle pad pro" to find out more info. I've heard people say there is SDI in Smash 4 and I've heard others say there isn't, perhaps version difference or lack of knowledge. So we'll just have to wait for the full game to know these things. But if SDI isn't in then I'd still want a right circle pad for aerials. So I noticed something...The 2ds doesn't have a CCP.Any ideas as too how to make it work?I was thinking make the d-pad=c-stick.Then taunts would be gone.Taunt is select button I guess.
I really hope I can change them around.![]()

Did anyone else notice that Peach and Link are featured on the picture, but neither of them were playable in the demo?![]()
