Let me quote myself a bit here:
I'm with Zen. Let's just get the day started. If people really want to treat this as Day 1 at least give FOS's or fake votes.
Some people were doing this, not all. You need a good early game to have a good town game, and this is why staying in the role picking stage for 16 pages annoyed me. I can't scumhunt or at least have a big picture when most people are discussing roles. My only leads at the time was Seal, Joey, and Jaytheunseen, because the focus wasn't scumhunting, but role discussion. Yet, I even said in the red that if people still wanted to treat it as Day 1 that they at least try to scumhunt. Yet the only people fos'ing were... Gheb, Ryu, Maven, and Zen. Joey and a bit of Jay after my sentiments to start Day 1 already. Some wouldn't even talk about scumreeads/players until Day 1. Only after many many pages was I able to develop solid reads, so even though I don't prefer it, I still made use of it to find scum. To me, it is like pre-game that is focused on roles with
some scumhunting, not the actual game. So please try to see from my perspective here.
1. Just because the words "scum hunt" weren't mentioned doesn't mean we had to put in a ton of effort in order to get reads. Reads came along naturally because [hoops] happened.
2. It's not the fact that I could or couldn't have posted more. It's the fact that if you were to be successful with your intentions, then you would have shut down the opportunity for people such as myself (that weren't as active in the first 8 pages) to throw in our opinion, meaning you wouldn't have gotten all of the town's thoughts on the roles.
3. You weren't close because the phase wasn't rushed. If you were to be successful in rushing the phase, then yes you would have stopped myself and Ryu (more-so Ryu since I mostly agreed with Gheb) amongst others from posting our thoughts which would have stopped conversation, plus the discussion between me and you would have never happened. "You know I like to play the early game" doesn't apply when you were attempting to shut down part of the early game.
4. The game didn't stagnate until almost 8 pages later than when you were initially trying to rush the phase, so saying that it's pro-scum to let the game stagnate doesn't apply since there were multiple people that haven't shared their thoughts (which is why it took so long to get through the phase).
1. Yes we did. It took a long while before there was content that could be looked at as suspicious.
2. I don't think that would have been the case. And yet Ryu had plenty of time to post and he did post a plenty.
3. The discussion between you and me... was about rushing a phase that I don't care about... if the phase didn't exist it would never happen. Plus, what do you call 'this' phase that we are in right now then? (That's the phase I was trying to get to)
4. I'll take this point back.
Finally, why does this make me scum and not town?
Is there no way you could see this from a Townran? Why not?
What did you think of Gheb's early actions and FOS's? (Against Maven and Red Ryu)
This is my last post addressed to you, Joey, as I do not want to continue arguing in circles.
