Wondering why Fridays update is so late? You can thank Telstra for that. Thanks for having your exchange screw up leaving me with the horrible prospect of no internet for 24 hours. So anyway, Fridays update is one continuing on from Tuesday, with the revelation of Petey <del dateTime="2007-08-26T02:05:10+00:00">Pukendiaper</del> Piranha, and the special role he has in Brawl.

At the end of <a href="http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/movies/movie070821a.html?keepThis=true&TB_iframe=true&height=290&width=420">Tuesdays video</a> Mario’s been blasted out of the Stadium, there’s a Subspace bomb going off in less than 3 minutes and Peach and Zelda have been caught in cages now being held by Petey. What is Kirby going to do!? :o

Well fight obviously. Petey is classed as a ‘boss’ by Sakurai, and with previous bosses being unplayable, and the way Petey looks to fight (by using the 2 cages holding the Princesses as weapons) it’s likely Petey isn’t playable (Though perhaps with an Action Replay?)

There are multiple bosses to fight, so expect some really interesting fights, as with this one, you don’t just knock Petey off the edge to win, you have to break one of the cages and release one of the Princesses. Which one you rescue is entirely up to you, and by the sounds of it, which one you rescue affects the story, which would be really cool as it sounds like it’s similar to Starfox 64 or even Meteos (also made by Sakurai incidently.) with branching storylines with alternate endings depending on what you do during the stage.
I know I’m going to be saving Zelda first, since in Zelda games she’s actualy helped, usualy shooting Ganon with Light Arrows while Link’s slashing away at him. What’s Peach ever done? Nothing for nobody. Kind of like Telstra really, the jerks.
