I know zero about Joker and even less about this series. I do try to familiarize myself with any sort of franchise appearing in Smash and maybe even pick up that game. That’s what led me to play Fire Emblem, Bayonetta, and Wii Fit.

So what do you think are the best candidates for the Persona 5 stage as well as music? Remember to go easy on embedding videos on here as it may slow down some users internet.

Mementos (one of the main dungeons) will probably be his stage, the music will mainly be from Persona 5 but I hope we get Persona 4, 3, and even some Q music. Throw in some P1 and P2 tracks in there too if Sakurai felt like it.

I hope we get some music from Shin Megami Tensei IV. I mean the Megaton games that have traditionally been on Nintendo platforms deserve some love too.

All right. First, let's go with some Persona 5 music. I'm gonna be doing five at a time here.

Life Will Change - The song in his reveal trailer that plays whenever Joker is about to infiltrate a scene and steal some treasure.
Last Surprise - The music that plays during a battle with an enemy.
Blooming Villain - Boss battle music.
Wake Up, Get Up, Get Out There - The song from the animated intro of the game
And finally...
Rivers In The Desert - And this one's a spoiler...
They could also go with some of the other Persona games.
Persona Q - Light Up The Fire In The Night - The battle theme from the first Nintendo-exclusive Persona game.
Persona Q2 - Road Less Taken - The opening theme from Joker's Nintendo exclusive.
Persona 3 - Mass Destruction - Battle theme from Persona 3 (Male hero)
Persona 4 - Reach Out To The Truth - Persona 4's battle theme
And for something a little different...
Electronica In The Velvet Room - A remix of the Velvet Room theme, a leitmotif that has been featured in every Persona game.

That's to say nothing of the Shin Megami Tensei music he will undoubtedly be bringing with him. The possibilities are massive and part of the reason this is so exciting is because Persona and SMT's music is just SO good.

As for his stage, the opening scene of the game takes place in a sumptuous casino mid-heist. If they wanted to go with a striking AND important moment of the game, you don't get better than that one. Plus with some clever workarounds they wouldn't have to reveal much story to those who have yet to play the game. The other option is the Velvet Room, an otherworldly dimension that shifts to relate itself to the user's subconscious. It's been there since the first game and is more important in 5 than ever before as it becomes a prison to represent Joker's feelings of being chained down to society after being unjustly saddled with a criminal record. Either would be fantastic, with one being more specialized and the other being more general.

Talking about the Stage for Joker....I could see them use Central Square.

Now here me out. I could see it looking like a normal day, then it transitions into Mementos through out.

Also, The Casino would be pretty awesome.

For me I am kind of hoping they do a curveball and give the most iconic stage in the entire series

The Velvet Room

I doubt it though. But what place is more iconic than there?

Stage: The Casino from Persona 5. It's an iconic dungeon and flashy AF. I could easily see it taking place on one of the long platforms suspended over the casino floor with the huge stained glass window in the background. Other plausible ideas are a traveling "Metaverse" stage that visits all the Palaces, a Mementos stage, or a Velvet Room stage.

Music: Oh is there a lot to pick from. Whims of Fate is the dungeon theme for the Casino, and it's pretty sweet. Last Surprise is the battle theme and the source of all the "You'll never see it coming!" memes. Life Will Change is the theme for when you make the final run for the treasure. Blooming Villain is the boss battle theme. Rivers in the Desert is an endgame boss theme. Aria of the Soul is the iconic Velvet Room theme, although it's not high energy in the slightest. Battle Hymn of the Soul, the final boss theme from Persona 3, however, is. Mass Destruction, Burn My Dread, Master of Tartarus, Master of Shadow, Reach Out To The Truth, and I'll Face Myself are other themes from Persona 3/4 that I'd love to see in Smash.

I hope they include the instrumental version of Life Will Change, just like they used in the trailer. I've always loved that track. "Ark" would be great, too.

I don't know how it would work for Smash but I'd love a remix of Heartbreak Heartbreak from Persona 4.

So many good choices, but I seriously hope Mass Destruction makes it. It would work perfect in Smash, just like The Devoted from Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn does!

For the stage, i feel like there's 3 locations that are the most likely to be used:

-Mementos: Probably the least memorable out of my picks, but the underground train subway line aesthetic would be new to smash and is very symbolic of the game as a whole (it's even technically on the title screen), while also having the least potential for spoilers.

-The "Casino": The first location we saw in the trailers and in the game itself. This is essentially the poster location of Persona 5's marketing and could very well make it into smash. With Sonic not getting any casino night zone stage, i feel like this stage would scratch that itch for me :p. Although it technically could be filled with spoilers for the game if they decide to fill it with background details.

-Tokyo, particularly the Shibuya Crossing: It might seem weird to have a real life location as a smash stage, but this place is probably the second most iconic location of Persona 5 and it represents the japanese high school student life simulator aspect of the game. They could also easily make it transition into a palace (once again at the risk of spoilers) so it represents the supernatural element as well.
This location would also come with the added bonus of representing not just P5, but Shin Megami Tensei as whole, since a majority of the games take place in some form of Tokyo or a city similar to it.

I get a gut feeling that they will pick Kamoshida's castle as a stage. That place seems to keep popping up in Persona spin off stuff, though I doubt Nintendo is going to want to officially reference a pedophile in their game. I see the Casino being a runner up, and if not that than Mementos for sure.

Everyone has mentioned locations specific to Persona 5, and while I agree that's the most likely choice considering Joker is solely a P5 rep and not a rep for the series as a whole, we have to mention the location that is a constant in every single Persona game.

I think there's a pretty good chance Joker's stage could be the Velvet Room. As for music, everyone else has already posted all the good ones, so no need for me to chime in there.

I think Kamoshida's palace is possible as a stage. That place seems to keep popping up in Persona spin off stuff, though I doubt Nintendo is going to want to reference a character as dark as Kamoshida in their Smash game. I see the Casino being a runner up, and if not that than Mementos for sure.

People have already mentioned the shoe in songs, so I will just list my off picks.

Persona 5

-Keeper of Lust: Mini boss theme, I modded into Smash once and it worked quite well.
-Mementos or Mementos remix if Mementos is the stage.
-Tokyo Daylight: I think it would work great if they were going for a chill vibe

Persona 3 and 4
Persona 3: Masters of Tartarus: Another song I modded in, and this song works really well.
Persona 3: The battle for everyone's souls: One of the most iconic songs from P3, gives some good Velvet room vibes too.
Persona 4: Reach out to the truth: Iconic as hell song.
Persona 4: Electoral in the Velvet Room: I think the Velvet room is a little too chill for Smash musically, but this could be a good way to represent it while still giving us a jamming tune.
Persona 4: Mist: One of the best songs from P4, would be amazing.

I do not think Mass Destruction from Persona 3 will get in. It is a little too suggestive with the main lyric being "Oh yeah! Baby Baby!" shame because I think it is the highest energy Persona battle theme.

Also apologies for not listing Persona 1, 2, or any other Shin Megami games, I am sure there are some great songs in those games, but I have never heard any of them.

I am just so happy overall, I thought I was going to have to mod Persona music back into the game onto some random stage, lets just hope Atlas is not as stingy as Square when it comes to copyright!

The Casino looks most interesting to me; cause that's a type of location not yet in smash, and could be really flashy.

Can we please get Takenobu Mitsuyoshi (Daytona USA/F-ZERO Medley composer) to remix one of P5's tracks? He works for SEGA too so it's perfect.

As some have said, I think the Casino Palace is the most likely option. The Velvet Room is possible though. As for music:

- Ark
- Blooming Villain
- Keeper of Lust
- Last Surprise
- Life Will Change
- Price
- Rivers in the Desert
- Velvet Room theme
- Wake Up, Get Up, Get Out There
- When Mother Was There
- The Whims of Fate
- Will Power
- Yaldabaoth

I think all of these are possible.

I wonder if they will label Joker as being from "Persona 5" like Cloud and Final Fantasy VII. I really hope the other Persona games get some music at least.

Too bad he's not base game, we could get a Jack Frost Assist Trophy or something.

For the stage, here's an idea I haven't seen yet - how about the ship palace? (Avoiding specific names for the sake of spoilers!) There are some really cool-looking spots, especially from the deck, and while it doesn't have the same significance as the Velvet Room, the casino palace, or Mementos, it's still pretty significant to the story! They could have some fun with it, like having a building slam into the ship and having obstacles like Shadows or ship guests appear. Could be fun! I think that the casino palace or the P5 version of the Velvet Room are the most likely choices, though.

As for music, the series' soundtracks are always excellent, so I'd be happy with any tracks they choose. A lot of them have been suggested here many times already, so instead of repeating the popular ones, I'll throw in another suggestion for Heartful Cry from Persona 3 FES, which was only suggested once so far! (Good choice, SquashiniKun SquashiniKun !) It's one of my favorite battle themes in the series, so I'd love to have it in Smash!

The ship would be too spoilery for my tastes (though when has that stopped Smash Bros. before...) But if it means getting that music, heck, I'd be beyond cool with it. I still remember how I felt the first time you realize what kind of palace you're in. What a moment.

The Ark was another stage I was really on board with, but it's super spoilery, I don't think they'd go with it. Though I could see like the mouse hallways, where you fight you know who, or the pool deck in particular working.

Honestly the Casino Palace is by far the best choice. It’s colorful, interesting, shows off the generally-stylish theme of P5, is something different to the rest of the stages, and fits other DLC choices like Umbral Clock Tower and Midgar, presuming a similar process, for being a beginning-of-the-game level/section that is in no way spoilery

I'm thinking it'll be the Casino as well. It's one of the most well known places in P5 so it's not really as much of a spoiler.. The Streets of Shibuya would be my second guess
I don't think there will be songs from the earlier games. The history of DLC has usually indicated that it'll be from the game they are from. He still could add them from the other Persona games.. But I'm not seeing it unless it's shared through the entire series. I do hope that Rivers in the Desert does get in though. It's one of the best songs from P5. Life will change is most likely getting in especially if it's a palace stage.

Now time for potential Stage hazards..
Casino level: the police could come and interact with the characters in some fashion.

Mementos: If the reaper doesn't show up then there's a problem here lol.

As an outlandish prediction.. I'm hoping it'll be a stage that can transform into an area that represents each of the Palaces. Kinda like Castle Siege. Honestly don't think it'll happen but

I'd be incredibly disappointed if Last Surprise, Will Power, Life Will Change, River in the Desert and Blooming Villain were left out of the music pack.

For a stage... I'd say Mementos or Niijima's Casino would be the best choice. Mementos because that's one of the most visited places (outside of the daily life stuff).

My second choice is Niijima's Casino because it was the palace featured in the opening scene and I think having a casino themed stage could be fun.

Like many, I think the Casino would be a good stage, though I am leaning more to the Velvet Room. I feel it also offers an aesthetic that no other stage gives off, that being a prison. We could even have Igor and the twins in the background watching the battle unfold or performing Persona fusions. Perhaps we can even have some cameos from other Velvet Room residents if Atlus is willing to have them show up.

You can almost be certain they will be willing. Maybe not DLC but they are hardly the company to hold cool stuff for ransom from Nintendo

Yeah, that's true. And it's not like they are exempt from P5 stuff, as they did show up in P5: Dancing in Starlight.

I'm trying to imagine a Velvet Room stage with Last Surprise playing in the background and I just can't. It would be a cool and iconic place for a stage, but I can't separate it from Aria of the Soul in my mind.

Have not been on in a long while and something dawned on me. With the stage we are getting, what are the chances we could get a Codec like Easter Egg in Joker's stage?

I could see it like how Fox, Falco and Wolf has there little voice clips in Ultimate. I don't think it would be to much of a stretch.

I really hope the stage is the casino. Imo it's by far the best option. Mementos would be boring. Every song I can think of has already been mentioned.

I agree with everyone on Stage. Its either Casino or Mementos, with also a good chance of either Velvet Room or Kamoshida's Castle.

As for music, I'm guessing they'll use the battle music from P5, P4 and P3, plus some stuff from P4A and P4AU, like Margaret's Theme, Adachi's Theme and, of course, Sawgrukami's Theme (Reach Out P4A mix). I'm also kind of hoping they add Nanako's Theme (Junes' Song) just for the fun of it. I'm also hoping hey use music from PQ and PQ2, since the battle themes are amazing in both games.

I'm kind of wondering if Persona will get the same treatment as Bayonetta music: no vocals. It would be very VERY sad, but I can see it coming, since the singers are third party if I'm not mistaken. This would greatly hurt tracks such as Rivers in the Desert, Burn my Dread and Last Surprise.

(I can already see myself spiking people out of the stage with Ganondorf with the Junes song playing in the background)

I don’t know much about Persona 5 music but how do these look in regards to Persona 5 representation?
The Velvet room theme (Hymn of the Soul) is iconic of the Series, so it's most likely going in. However, I see them using this version instead of the "slow" one:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o01IIevhAm4&t=103s

As for Tokyo Daylight, I'm unsure it's THAT iconic. I think "Beneath the Mask" is a more iconic theme if we're talking about the "slow" themes of P5.

The more iconic songs from P5 are Last Surprise, Life Will Change, Rivers in the Desert, Whims of Fate, Beneath the Mask and Blooming Villain. Your picks on "Wake Up, Get up, get out there", "Will power" and "Yaldabaoth" are still great, though.
