Fire up your Farsight and prepare for assignment-- the Dark returns this winter."

News : "On June 2nd, 2009 Major Nelson of Microsoft announced (via his twitter) Perfect Dark for XBLA running in full 1080p/60fps being displayed at the Microsoft E3 booth set for a release winter 2009"

I am DEFINITELY getting this game when it's released because I have the original version on my N64 and it was awesome! I am very excited and happy that this game will finally be released on the XBLA unlike Goldeneye 007 (one can dream...) I'm hoping that they will have online co-op and online counter-operative.

Discuss.

How many bots could you have in multiplayer games (on the N64)? I really don't see any reason for them to cap the player limit to less than that for online.

A game can be played with up to four human players and eight computer-controlled players.

EDIT : Perfect Dark XBLA Looks Sharp, No Expansion Pak Required

"Rare's Nintendo 64 first-person shooter Perfect Dark is coming to Xbox Live Arcade later this year. Winter, says Microsoft. This is what it looks like.

In a word, Perfect Dark looks sharper, thanks to its high-definition upgrades and "sporting a silkier framerate than ever before." In hard numbers, that translates to 1080p resolution and 60 frames-per-second. The official Xbox.com product page also touts "All the original game features are included plus new Xbox LIVE ones."

Perfect Dark Xbox LIVE Arcade Release Date & Pricing Strategy Revealed

http://electronictheatre.co.uk/inde...cade-release-date-a-pricing-strategy-revealed

With anticipation for the title riding high, Electronic Theatre has endeavoured to secure details concerning the expected release date and pricing strategy for this new rendition of RARE’s classic First-Person Shooter (FPS). Today, we received comment on the forthcoming release from a marketing representative intimately involved with the Xbox LIVE network.

“The work is pretty much finished… as far as I’m aware, the conversion has been complete for some time now.” He stated, before continuing; “We’re expecting a release very soon, there’s been talk that the game would launch in either the last week of January or beginning of February.”

With Xbox LIVE Arcade releases typically arriving on Wednesdays, Electronic Theatre proposed the dates of January 27th or February 4th 2010. In response, we were told that these expectations were “logical”.

When addressing the issue of price, Electronic Theatre’s enquiries were met with a rather flat response.

“1200 [Microsoft Points]. I thought that would have been obvious by now.”

UPDATES:

- 1080p, 60 FPS remake of the original N64 classic. Character models that were originally 300 polygons now boast 3500, while guns have leapt from 150 polygons to nearer 2000.

- Like the original Perfect Dark, Goldeneye's three best maps – Temple, Facility and Complex are included, but this time out there's a special bonus; Goldeneye's weapon set is also being included, meaning that for all intents and purposes the game has finally made it to Microsoft's console.

- 4 players splitscreen vs 4 players splitscreen over live, 4 player splitscreen offline, Counter OP,and Co-Op both online and offline, 8 players online deathmatch.

- "Multiplayer's also been boosted, with all the game's original modes now playable with eight players online. All the split-screen options are also present and correct, available both online and off. It's more than a recipe for some nostalgic shooting – Perfect Dark's multiplayer is still so compelling that we wouldn't be surprised if it managed to oust some of the bigger guns at the top of Xbox LIVE's most played list."

- "Spartan and Duty Calls" Controller options , "It may not be subtle, but Halo and COD fans will know exactly what to do once the game starts."

- Game is out in March for 800 POINTS/10$ !

EDIT: Perfect Dark XBLA Could Get More New Maps, Weapons

http://kotaku.com/5470627/perfect-dark-xbla-could-get-more-new-maps-weapons

"Lobb expects that when Perfect Dark hits next month it will be among the top five percent of XBLA games sold. And if it doesn't well, there's a good chance the game could get new content.

"That's something we've talked about, but it comes down to the audience reaction," he said. "One of the things we speced out was DLC, it would probably be new maps and it would be interesting to do a couple of new guns.""

Only complaint I have is I don't really like Joanna's new face. Other than that, I am incredibly pleased they didn't change any of the voice acting or other sound effects. It's perfect!
