Even though I thought there would be a good number of out of state players at this, I am very happy with the number of Texas smashers who showed up. Despite a lot of people not being able to show up, the turnout was very close to the same as last time. Even though we started an hour earlier, we ran later than last time. I think this was due to the competition being a lot closer, as most sets, including nearly all the 3/5's, went to last game. Also, we didn't have as many setups as last time, but I have an idea of how to solve that problem.

Shout outs:
DoH- Really glad you could make it to this, I hope you had fun. Good **** on winning, although you got pretty lucky not having to face Arc or Mojo lol. Hope to see you in the future!
MT- You ***** at this tournament, I can't believe you beat Mojo twice. You had pretty tight sets with DoH too. Thanks for coming and recording videos, I'll definitely put you in the title next time lol.
Tirno- Good **** beating Arc, I think I recall you saying that it was the first time you ever beat him in a 3/5 set? Thanks for helping me with pools/bracket, I really appreciate it.
Mojo- Marth?
TSC- You did pretty damn well for your first tournament in a long ass time. Although you probably can't see this since you are like super banned from smashboards lol
ARC- DUDE I THOUGHT YOU HAD THIS! Anyways, I enjoyed talking to you at the tournament, and thanks for keeping up with Mexico for me.
Garrrr- Damn, you've gotten pretty good, you took out Broly and Vash! It seems like Austin really stepped it up this tournament! Good **** man!
Jedi13- Still just a padawan. For some reason I really want to see you win a tournament...maybe then you will be a Knight lol.
Obsoleet- Luigi is broken
Broly- Glad you made it, it always amazes me to see you play
Smiles- It was awesome to see a bunch of old school players at this. You did pretty well for your first tournament in a while, I hope to see you around more.
Sybawave- You and Luciano were fun as hell to watch in teams, you guys really work well together.

Vash- I'm glad that you and Broly made it out, your style of Falco is very different, but it works pretty well.

This was a really fun tourney that actually turned out better than I could have hoped for with my brother making a surprise appearance. Had such a HUGE turnout and it was great to see everyone and it makes me even happier to see new faces as well. Only complaint is wtf happend to pool 2 that had to include me, admiral, and zaint?
1: DoH- It was great having you come to the tourney! You definitely need to come by more to give Houston peach practice. Plus, we have mojo. Thanks for judging the ab-off and letting me win!

Fun tourney. Just wish there were more setups; should have listened to Kal when he said pools was a bad idea when considering we only had 9-10 setups. Made the tournament run pretty late, but it's not a huge complaint.

DoH - Congratulations on your win and I enjoyed the sets we played. It seems that every adaptation I made was met accordingly with an adaption on your part. Or maybe we both played like crap and you played like less crap than me (your edgeguards got 500% worse in GFs looool). Let's just stick with the first hypothesis.
Tirno - MTirno in da HOUSEEEEeeeeeeeee
Mojo - I kind of want to say you weren't playing that well (from my perspective) but you DID beat Arc... gonna run with my victories over you and I'm expecting an even tougher fight next time we play.
TSC - Lucy too good. You should have stayed Falcon against me and learned to DI Marth combos; would have made the games MUCH closer.
ARC - Sup. None of the fthrow->pivot fsmashes I did against Peach worked, just sayin'.
Garrrr - Nice placing lol. Good to know the Marth practice paid off against Broly
Jedi13 - Sorry we didn't get to do those secondary MMs. Next time!! Stay swaggin'.

Noc - Ok I always say this every results thread but next tournament I am DEFINITELY going to play you. Also it's amazing how the moment I walk into the other room you are Falcon punching people off the face of the planet lol. Also awesome job with the stream/recording stuff... I'll never reach that level of awesome but I do want to continue to try commentary in the future...haha.
Zaint - Your game 2 against Hannah was mad gay but incredibly impressive nonetheless LOL.
M**** - Fun as **** guy to hang out with.
Grinin - Fun pools set man. Keep working on very fundamental things. Two to start: nairing low enough so that you can jab before getting shieldgrabbed, and combo DI (almost always down and away when getting combo'd until you think they'll throw out a kill move).
Flying Disk - We should seriously play next tournament. I feel like I haven't been able to get friendlies in with people at the past few tournaments I've been to lol.
RT - SUCH A SMART MARTH. A SMARTH, SO TO SPEAK (wow patenting this term it's amazing). Fun friendlies hahahah keep coming out and playing man!
Waterlessfishie - Sorry we keep getting the same pool... or maybe it's good fortune for more Marth practice? Don't run away predictably in the matchup!!! And thanks for having my back throughout the tourney!

Looking forward to the next one of these (and hopefully I'll be able to make it again; lol at speeding all the way from Austin in a smart car). The TOs have been very good about learning from each of their tourney experiences and I trust that the problems that this tourney had will be handily addressed at the next one. Way ahead of you MT, I think I'm going to instate a $5 venue fee next time that is waved if you bring a full setup, and those who pay it get a $5 voucher to buy stuff from Texadelphia. This should solve the setups problem, and I don't think the conditions of this small venue fee will detract from attendance at all.
