I wish I could do Parkour or at least try it. Not having the guts for it is what's holding me back.

I was into Parkour for a little while, but the lack of variety in the movements got to me. I could do it, but I didn't have a very urban environment to practice in and I couldn't find any real goal to reach for.

It just felt like "Alright! I did a flip off this ledge, I climbed that wall and I konged over that bench. Now what?". Then I turned to bboying, and now I'm a happy camper.

I wish they could find some way to make parkour battles or something...

Start off easy. A lot of the time what prevents people from trying is public humiliation.
It doesn't matter what they think of how good you are or aren't. Just do it. However at your own pace.

Well, parkour is actually a misspelling of the actual word, 'parcours'.
Parkour is french for l'art du déplacement.

Or "The art of movement"
It is much more than an art though, it is a way as well.

But, I agree the words seem more fluent.
parcours means

  1. journey
  2. route
  3. course
  4. trip
  5. run
  6. way
  7. hitch
  8. career
  9. record
i got that from Google translate

Yeah it will destroy your knees and give you a lot of pain later in life. It will hurt to walk in older age if you do it for too long.
Well the parkour motto is to be and to last- the whole point of pk is to get from one place to another as quickly as possible using the lest amount of energy and not getting hurt doing to last for the how run.

David and Sebastien re-defined the word since they spelled it diffrently.

Tried it but I can't really find any spots to do it x.x
You see a bench I see stairs, you see a wall, I see a elevator. You see what I mean? Any wall stairs or railings will do.

But make sure that you are very careful.

Unoffical motto. And yes, you are absolutly correct. But, you also forgot that the moves are suppose to look graceful as well.

I started doing some parkour. I love it. I haven't done too much yet though. I'm a runner, so it makes cross country practice so much more interresting. I jump off a bridge and do front handsprings over fences and benches everyday. I still haven't been able to do a backflip yet though. I can barely even to a frontflip. I try to train as much as I can though. It's true that one of the main things you have to do is get over your fears. Next I want to jump to the top of the bench and then do a frontflip over it. It's a little scary, but I'm pretty positive I can handle it.
