P:M single player event ideas?

I know it doesn't matter now, but since the PMBR is taking the time to implement better AI for the CPUs, I could totally see them tweaking the vbrawl events to make them more interesting and gear them toward the new game mechanics.

Anyone have any cool ideas for new events or tweaks to old ones? Maybe a nifty message after you accomplish a certain feat in P:M?



PS. PMBR if you never touch the events I wouldn't even care, i LOVE this game and What you're doing with it as is, anything beyond 2.6b is just the bee's knee's.)

You're captain falcon and You're fighting 2 ganons. Kills only count if you knee them while pressing the up-taunt secret "YES!" on the final blow

I have been looking into Event Matches for a good while now on my own accord. All the info I found is compiled here.

Basically, we can edit almost everything about them. What I can't do ATM is code picky and specific success and failure conditions outside of stock match things. Also can't code anything that would involve upping the file size ATM either due to very strict memory limits.

I can code statuses like Metal, size mods, invisible, and even Turbo into an Event Match too BTW.

I'd like to hear some event match ideas that are feasible so go for it.

I think a stage similar to Big Blue from Melee's event match would be cool. Maybe using Port Town Aero Dive. You know where you run to the finish line? Maybe a "Cruel Melee" event match where you have to kill 20 alloys, and after the 20th one, you fight 2-4 Sonics using turbo or something. Basically a call back to that old rumor of unlocking Sonic in Melee.

I would love to see more character vs character specific events. Something like Prince VS Prince. It would be an event where you choose either Marth or Roy. You choose Marth, you fight Roy, you choose Roy, you fight Marth. The stage would be the FE stage of course.

Maybe more stamina style events similar to the Link VS Dark Link event.

Prize For a Bounty Hunter: You are Samus and you must kill Bowser before Captain Falcon does.

Funny how I asked this question 5 times already to the PMBR and got no responce :laugh:
But srsly, this is a really good thing to talk about. As it has bottomless possibilities and can really increase Randi's skill level.I'm pretty sure they'd been working that for a while, now. And they'll suprise us as always.

Okay, for another it should basically be Melee's Event 51.

It can be like this. You have 3 lives, but you fight against 5 / 6 CPU's. 3 at a time. After the first 6 are defeated, then you fight an enhanced Giga Bowser. They all have 3 lives as well. Maybe no items for added difficulty.

How about a match where you fight in smash ville against lucario (resembles a dog) every stock you take from him makes it so that he is invincible until you pop a balloon. If he pops one, you have to wait for the next one.

Just a reminder, I can't do Event Matches that have very picky conditions like that since that would need Magus level coding, which I can't do yet.

Is giving a CPU an item at the start feasible ? And tweaking an item ?
I was thinking about giving a cpu a 1minute long mario star, in a 10hp match. So you'd be forced to dodge for a minute.

Would "do 10 shuffles" actually be possible?
I think if there'd be a way to implement a "challenge" mode similar to SF that'd be awesome for newcomers!

Well maybe event number one could be a tutorial.

Or actually an event for each character, and the event wouldn't be completed until you perform the standard advanced techs with said character.

for instance: "Tutorial wolf event"

-You start and its just wolf
-use Laser short hop wave dash 5 times
-change the height angle of your side-b up and down at least once during a match (I didn't even know you could do this until like a month ago).
Then after you fulfill these prerequisites an opponent appears and you finish the match.

This seems really clunky and i don't like it as an event, but i do like the concept of specific PM character tutorials.

I wonder if it'll become possible to increase the number of events, or re-organize them like SF4's +rial mode. There're so many ways this mode could be implemented.

dude that wolf thing is genius, seriously. i could imagine the same for lucario, but with some kind of "use 10 magic series combos on the sandbag thingy in 30 seconds or less"

this is stupid but why not.
You play as luigi, your opponent is fox
final destination, but you both spawn in the middle.
4 stocks
you can only use shield and the control stick

kill yourself before fox does 4 times

fox is super heavy and runs fast so the only way to win is to wavedash/waveland.
