But Pichu, Roy and Young Link don´t deserve to return either, unless Young Link is completely rehashed to represent the pre-Ocarina of Time Legends of Zelda.

Unless there´s over forty characters, Ness and Mewtwo should be respectively replaced by Lucas and Gardevoir. Ice Climbers should be replaced by another tag-team, unless again the number of characters exceeds forty.

Mr. Game & Watch I´m iffy about. He does deserve it and there´s nothing wrong about him, but I´d prefer a new surprise character.

Personally, I'd say Dr. Mario. Even though Pichu was a clone, he was unique. Sakurai actually went in depth, all the way to his Pokedex description to come up with an accurate gimmick for him. I like how he had so much power in return for dying quicker. Seems to me that a lot of people don't think about the casuals who play this game with items. I'm not really a casual player, but I really enjoyed playing as Pichu because of the challenge. With items on Pichu was even more fun to use. To me it'd be nice if he came back, but if he doesn't at least Pikachu is there (inheriting Pichu's best traits, hopefully).

Dr. Mario on the other hand, is just Mario with a coat. He, unlike the other clones could've been an alternate costume...for sure.

Mewtwo just needs to bring its uber pwnage that has engulfed the Pokemon series to Brawl...faster, heavier, less lag in its attacks...more useful Side B...

I dunno...I thought Ness and Lucas both used baseball bats, PSI and yo-yos so I think itd be a waste of a character slot to have a clone in there...Ive played EarthBound but I only got up to the part where Paula joins my team....and Ive never even seen screenshots of Mother 3 (I do know how Lucas looks like though)

I'd say like many many others: Pichu. And he's not unique, it's the pre-evolution of Pikachu, you just don't need the same characters in the same game. There's not even room for making Pichu a new moveset so that he still gets in Brawl. Seriously, Nintendo can do better, there's so many Pokémon to choose from.
I liked Dr. Mario but he's just a clone of Mario in a labcoat and plays only slightly different (I preferred him over Mario, but eh, he's not gonna be in Brawl except maybe as an alt. costume)
Roy...I liked both Roy and Marth, if I had to keep one, it would be Roy, but we can be pretty sure that this will not be the case. And there's a lot of other FE characters too, so it's not even sure if Marth gets in. We will have to wait.
Y. Link: I also preferred him over Link as well but you know, he will probably kicked out. I'd love to see him in his retro look based on any Zelda that came before Ocarina of Time, or WW Link. That would be awesome.

I like all the characters in SSB 64 and Melee, but still, I never liked Pichu in any of the Pokémon games, I certainly disliked him in Melee and I would never want him in Brawl. Then just put Lucario or any Pokémon most fans are yearning for in the game, it would make much more sense then having two electric rats (one of which is the baby form of the other) in the same game. It was probably due to time constraints, but I guess this time the developers won't have such an excuse.
