Dude, you made a thread to get his locked. The only problem you had with his panelists is that it wasn't discussed with all of Oregon, and that is obviously not cool, but now it's taken care of and it's the exact same with the addition of you. And since the majority is voting for his style and all.. conceding seems natural. In any case, I assume you guys have a conclusion to tell Neal.
Seeing as the admin position was tied in voting, all t1mmy had to do was vote for himself and get that position, but he abstained.
Some people keep forgetting t1mmy never tried to get Bart's thread locked, that was a mod's decision, ask the mods yourself why it was locked.
He's been trying to keep things calm even in face of Bart's rather harsh assumptions and accusations. All this voting seems to just ask for a slam campaign.

PS: Props to Wikipedia, you're constantly being put in a position to defend your opinions, that just means you're presenting a different view to be considered, don't let anyone convince you it's wrong.

lol, tied with a 1 - 1? That means two people voted. And to just vote for himself to win? Come on man.

My hypothesis is, in question form- could timmy in creating his own PR thread have possibly gone into the process not thinking that it would get Bart's thread locked and thinking that it would end well?

Surely someone as bright as him would have seen it coming.

Of course it could have got locked if he posted that, he's smart enough to think through everything.
Now, was it his intention of locking the thread? No.
He had no control over it. He never asked a mod to do that.
Obviously he would have done everything he could to get that thread locked if he wanted to. All he did was present his side of the PRL in a separate thread, because he was not included in Bart's proposal. It was in reaction to Bart's thread. Now, why did Bart post his thread without disclosure? That's why there was reaction, but the purpose wasn't to lock the other.

its funny how you have to go behind the backs of most oregon smasher to come up with a pr system that the majority ends up liking... just to have a 5 day long argument and some voting just to end up right where it started (plus timmy).

props to bart and his pr system for having the foresight and organization to make this list and have almost nothing change.

otherwise im really getting sick of all this bull**** arguing for absolutely nothing.

So then it's decided? Panelists are Bart, Minh, Jesse, and Timmy? Using Barts format? And either Bart or Timmy as adminstrator they'd both do a good job so I could go either way.

Considering I took the initiative and posted mine before Timmy posted his (which wouldn't have ever been posted had I not taken the initiative), and considering my format has won the popular vote which wasn't even any sort of requirement according to the PR regulations thread in the first place, and considering Timmy just conceded, the thread I made should just be unlocked.

Just wanna point out how ridiculous all of this has been. It's clear Timmy knew the thread would be locked. Whether it was his intention or not on a technical level is irrelevant. If "discussion with the entire community" had been a requirement listed in the PR regulations thread, I wouldn't have posted the thread in the first place (in fact, a control F of the words "discussion" and "community" bring up no results that are relevant to the creation of a thread). I made certain that every criteria was met, and it was still somehow a problem. Hell, I had even talked about it with other people in the community beforehand, so it's not like it was completely out of nowhere.

Oh yeah, I don't recall ever saying I "want more attention."

And actually, now that I think about it, the thread had been locked once before the final lock. It was done by Omnigamer. It's clear that the thread was reported somehow, Tommy, either by you or your brother.

It doesn't matter how it got locked or why it got locked it's all past now. I didn't know about the PR going on with Bart Jesse and Minh but yeah I don't think it's a requirement to the PR. Josh & Bart please don't take anything I've said against offensivley I like you two a lot as players and as people, and I hope to see you both at the finger bang this weekend.

I'm alarmed at the number of people who think that this Power Rankings discussion is some sort of publicity stunt. Shin, Bart, Eggz, and now Digital Watches have all made comments recently and abruptly about me either on AIM, on these boards, or in person about being a control freak, wanting attention, and even being a "tyrant". This is the complete opposite of my personality, and you - everyone in Oregon who've met me - know this.

You get what you want Bart: thread admin, panelist, and the attention you expressedly desired. I'm stepping out of the discussion until the community, as a whole, decides what they want. If you want to contact me, please don't bother posting here - leave this thread open for everyone to focus on working out the PR criteria.

t1mmy is backing down because he is a very passive guy, whenever things turn into a slam campaign of accusations he shows that he's not being a tyrant and just wants to see things done well. I'm in full support of his decision, and, yeah, it would have been better if we didn't go through a week of bickering. Both me and t!mmy would have supported your PRL from the start if you hadn't been so exclusive. Keep in mind your sudden proposal, in spite of previous PRL efforts, was seen in light of your aggressive behavior against me with personal attacks that went outside the game and community. Of course I wasn't going to take your list seriously when I see I wasn't even listed, and others said it was a "terrible" list or that it looked like the names were "pulled out of a hat."
It would have taken ten seconds to make a post here on OSM saying "hey, guys, I'm putting up a Power Ranking List."
Instead of taking the better than thou attitude, Bart, show your gratitude that t1mmy is letting you handle things your way, at any time he could have stated "my thread is clearly the continuation of our previous work for the PRL" and give him complete control. But that would make him out to be a tyrant.
If this is how t1mmy wants it, let's all get back to how things were and focus all this energy more productively and resume with a quality PRL.

Oh please, don't guilt trip me. You know very well that if I had come to you guys you wouldn't have had it, just like you wouldn't have it way back when we discussed PR in the OSM and both of you refused to do anything like a normal PR system.

Nobody else said it was a "terrible" list except maybe Shin, and then he told me he later reconsidered. I don't need to show gratitude toward Timmy like he's a moderator or something. My thread came before his, and if he stated it was a "continuation" of the rankings in the OSM, he would be lying. The OSM list was never updated and was never technically a PR. Timmy even admitted to that to me by saying something along the lines of "I never said that was a PR."

I have never taken the "better than thou" attitude, and in conceding and trying to make it look like it would have happened regardless of the outcome of the votes it seems Timmy is the one taking that attitude. Of course I highly doubt he would have conceded regardless of the votes, because then he would have done so much earlier. I always have, and still do, want Timmy to be involved. In fact, I don't think I read anywhere in his post that he decided against even being a panelist, just that he was conceding.

Bart, it's exactly for the above post that I prefer to talk to you in person. You seem much nicer outside the boards, perhaps because there is no point for grandstanding one-on-one.

Sorry it's taking me so long to post, but I am having difficulties with my home computer. I'm going to contribute PR discussions in the PR thread.

because I always said how much and he would always correct me every time I said it and now I don't say it anymore. But I also found this picture I should have posted earlier in this thread

Okay, more smash discussion for Jesse!

Um... is Mr. Falcon really a captain of a ship, or is "Captain" really his first name?
I haven't played much Star Fox lately, but what rank does Falco have? Could he be Captain Falco?!

I made a Tia page for the upcoming SF:E and I'll probably have a thread for it here soon.

You know very well that if I had come to you guys you wouldn't have had it, just like you wouldn't have it way back when we discussed PR in the OSM.
Wow, that's a rash decision to not discuss an important topic that involves us, especially since we're proactive in the community. We've always had thoughtful discourse with everyone trying to help, you would be no difference. I've said before I would have been fine with the PRL, but obviously I'd have my input on it, as everyone has (or should).
Nobody else said it was a "terrible" list except maybe Shin
Should have taken time to ask what people thought of it, come to think of it, you should have done that before you posted it.
I always have, and still do, want Timmy to be involved. In fact, I don't think I read anywhere in his post that he decided against even being a panelist, just that he was conceding.
I remember reading his reasoning for not being a panelist, even if he did not outright say it. If you missed it, I'm sure he'll clarify it as he's actually been rather direct when I asked him if he wanted to be.

Hey Tommy...I appreciate the plug on the first page. Respect.
Oh yeah, I wanted to put you on there, I usually have to be reminded a few times before I do so, as I usually tell people to remind me if they're not on there right away. But, yeah, you should probably tell me your location and what your two most used characters are. The main characters are usually determined by the record on your memory card, but it's your choice really.

Alright, so apparently Timmy is declining the fourth panelist position. Do we need to recast votes on a fourth panelist since the majority who voted for him then wouldn't be able to actually vote for who they want?

I say yes, we do. I know I want my vote to be counted as somebody I actually vote for and not a non-existent Timmy.

In response to you, Tommy, why should I have done that when everybody liked the list albeit not initially besides just you and your bro?

Agh, out of order but..

In response to your first quotation: I'm pretty sure I wasn't included in your originial "PR" group of panelists. When I and others in the community said we didn't want to do the PR the way you guys wanted to do it, you guys still did it, regardless if it was technically a PR (which you argued for it being one, so don't turn that around).

You're still saying that I didn't like your rankings even though I have said on multiple occasions it's not the rankings I even care about but the layout of the thread itself.

In regards to your suggestion of a "revote", I will simply say that when a position is declined, that position is then granted to the runner-up.

Panelists
bart-11
juce-10
cmin-10
timmy-9
tommy-3
foos-2
tudios-1
kenpachi-1
If I didn't know better, I'd say you're calling a revote simply because of personal feelings toward t0mmy.

You don't know better then, clearly.

I am calling a revote for the fourth panelist because I don't want my fourth vote to go to you who isn't even going to be a panelist. Honestly, it makes it look like the only reason you're stepping down in the first place is to get Tommy onto the panel, like the idea out there (no matter how ridiculous it may sound) that Kerry conceded in 2004 to Bush to purposely get Bush into office. I didn't vote for Tommy for the fourth panelist, and I want my vote to count for something. In such a small setting like this, a revote is nothing hard to do at all.

But I like that you state as a fact how something is done regarding voting. Pretty sure not every single voting situation has the same rules.

Remember Timmy, you're the one who brought this whole voting by community business into the picture in the first place. Don't deny the community discussion on who the fourth panelist will be.

Why go through another week of spam, flaming, and filibustering? Next most-voted takes position, that'd be me, and I'd like the position, so I'm obviously not in favor of a re-vote. I'd be happy to take the position, additionally I am very qualified with experience of the game, judging players, and the metagame, as well as being possibly the only one who could be considered with OoS tourney experience.

In response to you, Tommy, why should I have done that when everybody liked the list albeit not initially besides just you and your bro?
Like I said, it wasn't a very wise decision to leave out the opinions of some of the more proactive members.

In response to your first quotation: I'm pretty sure I wasn't included in your originial "PR" group of panelists.
I think I remember you being considered for panelist originally, and that is really beside the point.

Tommy and I discussed on AIM. He seemed to agree that the community should do a revote for the fourth panelist.

revote moved to first post of PR thread.

So I am feeling better today if anyone cares...
I care. I heard something about a flu/cough going around and was wondering if that was what you had. My dad had something like that a few days ago. Flus and coughs always seem to be going around this time of year.

Actually, Neal said "everyone" had to ok the PRL. t1mmy would just be going by the mod's order.
Again, don't be so presumptuous, about why t1mmy is stepping down now. Because he never said he wanted to be Panelist ever before. It's like me saying you want to deliberate with all this voting just so you're given time to convince people to vote you--that would be presumptuous ;^)

Tommy and I discussed on AIM. He seemed to agree that the community should do a revote for the fourth panelist.
Seemingly agreed, though I didn't. That's why I posted saying I didn't see a reason for revote. But I'm a passive guy, just seems like a lot of hassle to vote for a revote just to vote. I'm not in any position to make a decision either way, it's a headache.
