Options out of fox's up throw

I notice in vids that m2k RARELY, if ever, gets up air'd from fox's up throw. He always gets the fair out to either hit solidly or trade with the first kick. What is the DI on this? Or is this another frame perfectness issue on the fair out of stun...

I think the key is to DI seconds before you get grabbed. I think M2K has played for so long that when he knows he's a millisecond away from Fox's grab he starts to DI away, which *may* explain why his Marth gets thrown at an angle by Fox's up throw. Best answer I got.

You can't Smash DI throws outside of Jiggly's fthrow. He's probably just DI'ing away then fairing as fast as possible, and the Fox messes stuff up.

I have a hard time believing PC Chris messes that up consistently. I'm guessing the DI is up and away and fair asap. I'm surprised nobody is 100% on how this exchange works tho since it's so absurdly common.

Well depends on percentages, I guess. Plus Marth is pretty floaty, so there's that. There're a few characters who just can't get uthrow'd to uair'd consistently, and I suppose Marth is one of them if you know what you're doing.

Uair

Fox Uair has 2 hits ,

simply SDI on the 1st hit. when fox's upair connects to you smash left/right

as for a greater chance of survival when fox upthrows RegDI right/left ,

its not hard at all ,

its just remembering to always do it in a match.

So let me rephrase... can anyone who knows what they're doing tell me at what percents and DIs marth can fair before fox can land aerials out of up throw? I know smash DI is great but thats different, and you should be smash DIing even if ur trying to fair just in case.

He can't for a very long time, around 50-60% with DI. It's much higher with no DI. Honestly, PC Chris does mess it up a lot. The only Fox that was any good at really being consistent with upairs even with DI was KDJ.

Ever since the development of using smash DI to get out of upairs, a lot of Foxes have just neglected the DI'd upthrow upair combos for the safer nair/bair setups.

You DI the throw to the side and once you get hit by the first little 'kick', you SDI the opposite direction and whip out a fair. Works for me ^^

Niko, I'm also interested in this. I have rarely ever been able to escape the upthrow--> upair by DI'ing to the side, at any percent.

A tip Hylian gave me a long time ago that's golden, start dash dancing (make believe of course) real fast while you're in the air and a good amount of the time you'll smash DI the first hit.

Velox is talking about the way KDJ DI's out of up airs.

You could do that or practice timing it with a friend.(make sure you smash DI the first hit the opposite direction you DIed from the up throw)

Basically just practice so since I'm pretty sure you got your answer go do it :D.

I love how, even though he said he wasn't talking about SDIing it in post 8, there are still people talking about it <.<

it would seem to me that the questions have been answered.

Easiest way to do it if you aren't good at smash DI'n just mash the joystick back and fourth fast like if you were DDing it helps a lot.

Also DI behind Fox it takes a lil bit longer for him to turn run jump.
