Hey guys recently got Ocarina up and running and I'd like to use this thread to document which codes work online (when only 1 person has them enabled) and do not desync.
AFAIK only Stage codes and possibly a Stock match code work in such a manner.

I am new/testing this out so please correct me if need be.

Of note: when using these codes you must confirm stage selection using the A button and not Start otherwise code won't work. To clarify (instructions that came w/ code seem to be wrong) you hold down the appropriate button at the Character Selection screen before you hit Start (think Samus->Zamus (note: Zamus (holding R) will also negate stage selection code). Then keep holding it until you confirm stage selection using A button. From trial & error - just hitting A on Random works fine UNLESS it chooses a Custom Stage. In that case the Custom Stage will override your code. So your best bet is to just move the cursor up and select any normal stage.

Code:
- - - - Hold R for Practice Stage
284DE4B0 000000A0
4A000000 81000000
145E25D8 00000037
E2000002 80008000
Hold the specified button down on the stage selection screem while loading.

- - - - Hold L for Target Test
284DE4B0 000000C0
4A000000 81000000
145E25D8 00000038
E2000002 80008000
Hold the specified button down on the stage selection screem while loading.

- - - - Hold Y for Result Stage
284DE4B0 00000880
4A000000 81000000
145E25D8 00000028
E2000002 80008000
Hold the specified button down on the stage selection screem while loading.

- - - - Hold X for Home Run Contest
284DE4B0 00000480
4A000000 81000000
145E25D8 00000034
E2000002 80008000
Hold the specified button down on the stage selection screem while loading.
Feel free to suggest codes that are confirmed to work in the aforementioned manner.
See ya online!

The codes that lcampoy8 posted are not button activated. Instead, it makes it so you will ALWAYS play on the specified stage, no matter what you choose. I'll try to give you a little lesson on these codes (I'm sorry if you already know some of this:ohwell:).

This is the stage changing code:

284DE4B0 0000XXXX
4A000000 81000000
145E25D8 000000YY
E2000002 80008000

See the highlighted letters? If you change those, it will alter the code.
Replacing the XXXX will change what button you press to activate the stage.
Replacing the YY value will change what stage you are going to play on.

Here is a list of the XXXX replacements and what they do: (Just copy/paste these numbers over XXXX)

0081 - Hold Left on D-Pad to activate code
0082 - Hold Right on D-Pad to activate
0084 - Hold Down on D-Pad
0088 - Hold Up on D-Pad
0090 - Hold Z
00A0 - Hold R
00C0 - Hold L
0180 - Hold A
0280 - Hold B
0480 - Hold X
0880 - Hold Y
1080 - Hold Start/Pause

List of YY replacements (again, copy/paste these over YY)

26 - Play on ConfigTest
28 - Play Result screen
34 - Homerun Contest
35 - Costum Stages (the last costum stage you played will be the one that shows up)
36 - All-Star Rest Area
37 - Online Practice
38 - Break The Targets

Ocarina codes can be pretty flexible, but can also be complicated. I hope this isn't too hard to understand.:chuckle:

well actually you have to choose random to play on it, so you can still play other stages as well

You have to change the sub ID. Don't ask me how to do that. I have no idea how.:p

Oddly enough, I've never been able to fight on Target Tests 2-5, even if I did change the sub ID. I don't know why...
The codes that have been posted here so far don't have a space to put sub-IDs anyway (as far as I can tell).

Hey, does anyone have ocarina stage modifying codes that work on wifi? I don't mean just with friends, I mean for brawling "With Anyone".

Edit: I found it. Another question, does anyone have the ocarina code for stock matches on "With Anyone"? Or does this not exist yet.

Edit2: So I found a version of the music modifier code which works online. This will even work for "With Anyone". But it only works if you get lucky and you're the host. Here's the code:

Music Modifier (wifi)
4A000000 90FDCD20
14000000 FF00xxxx
E0000000 80008000

Replace xxxx with a song's sub id. You can find that if you look at any music modifier code for this game.

Explanation: This only works if you become the "host" of the game. This means for either "With Friends" or "With Anyone". For "With Friends", its pretty self explanatory how you become the host. For "With Anyone", my theory is the host is the person who first enters the online room. Characteristics of you being the host is when you see people one-by-one joining the room. If two or more people join at once, that means you've joined a room with people already in it so you're probably not the host. Even if you see only one person join the room, you're not guaranteed the host position because you could've joined the other person's room. Another theory is the host is picked at random so *shrug*.

When it works, the song you chose will play no matter which stage you're on. This means someone else could've chosen a stage but the song will still play. So if you want this to work, if you don't hear your song, just drop out the group and try again.

Its interesting that once you're the host, you remain the host until you decide to drop out or get disconnected. Therefore, you will also hear the song as long as you play.

Hope this clears things up for people. And no, this will not desync your wii.

PS As the song will be playing over and over again, you might want to choose a song you're willing to hear over and over again.

Could you tell me which codes work to play online using the stage modifying codes "With Anyone"? I seem to always get disconnect when I use the codes that force the same stage every time.

Look at the code lcampboy8 provided above. Those work. Just choose random and the stage you set will be your stage choice. As usual, there will be a one out of (# of players in the room) chance that your stage will be picked.

So lemme' get this straight...

When you use an Online Stage Modifier Code like "Hold X for Home Run Contest" do you have to choose "Random" when you select the stage?

So far, the only online stage modifer code is the one where you play one stage over and over again. If you want to play a different stage, you have to put in a different code. For this code, you have to choose random everytime. The "hold x button for y stage" only works offline. For that code, you have to hold that certain button for that stage. With that code, you can have multiple stages available to you at once. And for that code, you have to hold the button before you advance past the character selection. You have to keep holding it as you select random from the stage selection screen. And remember to only choose random with the A button.

So you were in that fight huh? That was a custom code created by me... I'm still considering releasing it, but I'm worried about having people running around with "Poke-balls always Oh-ho" codes or something to that effect...

Though I have to admit, it was very chaotic never knowing which character you were throughout the fight!

hahah, yeah, that was a crazy fight! i don't really think that would be such a great idea to release that, though (considerhing the ho-oh scenario :dizzy: ). but, chances are, that some code like that will get out eventually.

Wow, the hacking god himself posts. Thanks for all the good worked you've done man.

As for the pokemon/assist trophy hack on wifi, I understand why you're hesitant to post that. But to be fair, we already have wifi compatible code which disrupts online game play (i.e. forcing everyone to play stages where you can't die thus forcing everyone to quit eventually). And having the same pokemon/assist trophy, although potentially annoying, shouldn't be that bad (unless your code also enables it so the items you activated are the items that appear always in every match). Besides, people who have assist trophies and pokemon are high are already annoying so this would only make it a little more annoying. I'm not advocating ruining online for this game, I'm just saying it could be worse than this code.

Point taken and considered, there is however, the possibility that the same person who has the code also is the one who gets to choose the items(they keep that as long as they remain in the group) - I did the same with Manaphy and set the items to all poke-balls. Of course poke-balls are up for grabs to whoever gets one first, but the problem lies in someone getting one and then the poke-mon being so overpowering that there's enough time for that same person to get another poke-ball. Thus the battle turning into a race to whoever gets the first poke-ball... It's true that there are codes to modify the level that's played on, but those don't change the actual battle too much - most people find such codes either an unusual experience or just an annoyance.

I still haven't reached a final decision yet, but I may hold off a bit until releasing it
(get my share of fun out of it before releasing it to the public )

if this is you again phantom, do you also have something that makes you the same character as someone else? or was that just a series of coincidences? hahah

I tried making a code for it so the character select screen displays everyone else, but there were a few problems that I had troubles working around...

Maybe I should try at it again.

I see your point. So the item chooser is like the music chooser as well. You keep that position the whole time you're in the group. That's very interesting. Thats what I was afraid of. Okay, I totally understand if you decide not to release this code then. Although, I t would've loved to get my hands on it ;).

Wow, this code would be AWESOME. Can't wait until you work the kinks out of this one.

I know that the Character Mod codes can work online.

Also, Phantom Wings, perhaps you should select some sort of elite group of hackers or highly trusted members to reveal the codes to. Something like the Smash Back Room.

I jsut want a few online codes ot have some fun with.

This type of thing will take Taunt and Crouch Parties to the next level.

XD i love teamin up by taunting/crouching. fun stuff. so far hacks that have happened to me (dont hack doesnt know how) are online target test 1 and giga bowser. giga bowser only happened once (saved replay data) and it usually took too long for us to die on target test.

Yeah it would also be helpful if u posted the list of songs that can replace the n"xxxx" please do that cuz i cant find it anywhere
