First link mentions Takao Miyoshi and Sega. Takao is a member of Sonic Team and one of the main minds behind Phantasy Star Universe. The pixelated mushroom is obviously lifted from the NES classic Super Mario Bros. except for the altered palette. When you click the mushroom, it plays a jingle I can't identify but sounds very similar to the SMB 1-UP jingle. There's also the issue of the "pole" in the URL.

Edit: BTW, when you click on the red U in the first link, you get this:

http://u-can.sega.jp/

http://www.seganerds.com/2009/01/21/takao-miyoshis-unnannounced-game-revealed/#comments

Game has been revealed. It's called "Pole’s Big Adventure"

The game is called Pole’s Big Adventure and is supposed to mock 8-bit games released on the Nintendo Entertainment system around its heyday. So that means the title will be on Nintendo’s WiiWare, pricing for Japan currently is 500 Wii Points.

The game is supposed to have inside jokes in each level. The teaser site had a mushroom and apparently in Japanese that is slang for a male’s *****. Now you add pole and a mushroom that grew when you touched it with the mouse, you are going to get a game with alot of **** jokes.

Check out the scan for screenshots of the game after the jump.
And with this new info, I'm 90% sure that this isn't coming to the states. :(

http://www.mmv.co.jp/special/game/30/

Second link is a floating, archaic-looking clock with Triforce-like symbols instead of numbers. As the clock ticks all the way around, it stops just before the 12:00 position, then begins to wind back one full rotation before continuing normally again. Also, it should be noted that Marvelous Entertainment is best known as the developers of the Harvest Moon titles.

Boy, after Darkslash found that mysterious trailer, more mysterious stuff pops up. When did gaming companies decided that becoming mysterious is hip?

Okay, jesus christ, what is it with this large influx of mysterious countdowns now?!

anyway, wild guesses here-

1- lets see, a mario mushroom, rated B, something about a pole.... I'm guessing either something like nanashi no game, but with a mario ripoff instead, or some kind of retro-inspired rpg.

2- HO**** HARVEST MOON ZELDA EDITION

or at least something involving zelda, maybe a new tingle game.

According to the Kotaku story about this, the sites linked to in the first link are to games that are Prope titles, which is a studio created by Yuji Naka, who also created Sonic.

As for the Marvelous site, I have no idea what it could be. I know they're more of a publisher than a developer, so the chance of it actually being a Zelda game is unlikely.

I guess we won't know for sure until 4 days from now.

It looks like Sega wants to make another Mario game after not being satisfied with Mario and Sonic at the Olympics.

I am freaking the **** out about that Zelda thing. Anything related to Majora's Mask would soak my britches in an instant. I'm hyped as hell.

It almost looks like that first game is trying to teach you how to write.

Mysterious countdowns are creepy.

A SMB Mushroom from Sega? More of less awkward IMO.

A triangle clock with a 1/3, 2/3 and a full Triforce? Now THAT is interesting.

No More Heroes TriForce Edition.
I'm sorry but i couldn't resist...the opportunity just opened with Marvelous Entertainment being the publisher and the Triforce...Plus I don't have Photoshop lol

I kinda feel Flattered :p

EDIT: Okay now for serious discussion. Its another Mario and Sonic game, this time its the thing we Nintendo and Sega fans dreaded the most, but now some thing that's entertaining and have a (hopefully) good laugh about it. Mario and Sonic helping each other. The Sonic World(is it Earth or Mobius currently not sure) and the Mushroom kingdom(Mario,Yoshi,Donkey Kong and Wario related characters) help each other against ROBOTNIK. NOT EGGMAN, RO-FREAKING-BOTNIK.

MMV The closest i can get is a Legend of Zelda game with No more Heroes Combat. It will still have the classic Zelda puzzle solving but with more emphisis on the combat this time with more enemies and you need to clear them to advance....but maybe its a Handheld thing like what they did with Capcom.

I also know Grasshopper and Suda did NMH but hey its possible that they are co-developing this game.

I know its all speculation but wouldn't this be awesome? Maybe not....

I just realized that the Zelda clock has been counting down for THREE DAYS! I wish I could take tomorrow off to play through the entirety of Majora's Mask right before the countdown expires and the moon crashes down they unveil what it is.

Scratch ALL of that.

Having Zelda with No More Heroes combat (I'm assuming that's the NMH you're referring to) would be like having Mario without jumping.

I'm not sure. Some of the Combos from NMH remind me of the ones from OoT. Of course only in the early stages when you get the Blood berry, but you can see the inspiration. But at my point the Tsubaki MKIII is too nimble and fast to compare it too the Master Sword.

But I'm not sure how it would be like Mario with no jumping. Of course the Puzzle solving will still be there. I just felt that the enemies where underwhelming. I mean your fighting against Ganondorf who can summon a whole demon army and you encounter like 100 of them... I know that Zelda concentrates more on the puzzle solving, but this could be made/published by MMV.

Who knows.

I did some calculations and its down to 26 hours! That means its closing in.

*Prays for LoZ with NMH combat*
i ****ing love you!!!!!

Maaan I just had a talk with my friend and I'm sure that if a Zelda game were to truly become the best one, better combat and harder difficulty would be the key..

i hope that this new zelda being on Wii doesn't mean that its gonna be a piece of cake. i truly believe that it can happen, NMH is a good example of good games in the Wii :DDD

Seeing as how Nintendo is developing both a DS and Wii Zelda, I'm almost positive that this countdown clock is for the DS game.

I highly doubt this countdown clock has anything to do with that. The Triforce alone stands as the largest barrier.
Look carefully what the guy is holding.

Yes now you will cry.

Unless MMV pulls a barrel roll and releases 2 games....That will make me cry tears of joy. But who am i Kidding.

fits this situation nicely...-sob-

Yeah, I realized that, so I edited the post.

In the video game world, the "triforce" symbol is pretty much a Nintendo trademark. You cannot use that without everyone thinking it's Zelda-related -- especially when your teaser countdown clock is incredibly reminiscent of an already-existing Zelda game. Cheap moves like that lose customers like me.

EDIT: Nintendo now has a lot to live up to:
a) They've not revealed a smidgen of info on the next Zelda
b) Marvelous just upped the ante by hyping the entire world with a 100% convincing Zelda teaser.... which was a lie!

People like myself are extremely disappointed with both Nintendo's failure to present anything yet and Marvelous' little stunt. Seriously, the game that they revealed, despite how original it may be, does not look intriguing at all, and I'm not speaking in bias at all because of my crushed hopes for a Zelda game.

Typical RPG + WarioWare = FAIL

OKAY what really pisses me off is this

Each mode has its own main character and gameplay mode: A brave warrior in a side-scrolling action game, princess in a shooting game, a demon king in a strategy game and a knight in an action game.
Sound Familiar?
A brave warrior in a side-scrolling action game,

princess in a shooting game,

a demon king in a strategy game

and a knight in an action game.

I call shenanigans...

There is no way they can expect to get away with this. The gaming masses will riot. The Zelda fanboys will invade their offices, kill the men, **** the women, and steal the children.

I'm seriously changing my Kotaku avatar from Awesome face to pissed off link becuase of this. I won't forgive MMV for this until 2010, which is next year. Yay for fanboyism.

Wow... I'm so disappointed.

Well, if its of any use, I didn't truly believe that that thing was the countdown. Just to raise your hopes, the Zelda team has been working on the new Zelda since before TP was launched. It has always been like that. Don't expect notice of a new Zelda until maybe 2010. But just know that its on its way ;)

Oh man, this guy totally called it. Clearly he is a paragon of intelligence who knows that skepticism is the best way to approach any mysterious countdown. I bet this guy is also dead sexy. **** I want him inside me.

Well, we all know that, but the Zelda DS certainly hasn't been in development since before TP. That's what I thought the countdown was leading to, but whatever.

wut.

1.Yeah, because we obviously have no ***** jokes whatsoever in the states
2.This is the country that made Conker's bad fur day.
3.Cho Aniki is on the VC, and Ai Cho Aniki is likely to follow. Those games are the very epitome of Homosexual/phallus jokes in video games. If those games can be brought here, but a game with some innuendo can't, then wtf.

Also, I hate Marvelous now. Not making it Harvest Moon Zelda Edition is one thing, but on the PSP!? WRRRRRYYYYYYYYYYY

I'm sure the Brits are the ones who did that...unless your from Britain.

:< I'm getting alot of Flak on Kotaku becuase they said the Tri force symbol also belonged to this Japanese clan. BULL ****. Who would seriously think about a japanese clan when it comes to video games?
