Today, I was playing a few of my friends on Wi-Fi. I was having a singles friendly against one of my friends, and I performed a certain move a couple of time in that match that I can't seem to replicate.

It involves Snake's Down + B move (C4). Specifically, I'm in the air and attempting to drop a C4 for some field coverage. When I perform the actual attack, the direction Snake is facing flips, and almost all momentum I had goes kaput. The C4 is still dropped just like in a regular attack, but you can see how much of the forward (and even downward) momentum I lost. Now, two out of the three times I performed this little slight of hand, everything was just fine. I even set myself up in a BETTER position with this move. So, now I'm interested in replicating it, one way or another. It could be useful if I'm launched somehow, or just want to pull a quick mindgame. So, does someone know what's up with this? It seems like a nice AT to add to my repertoire.

Maybe I'm mentally incapable, but I saw nothing of the sort in the guide. Maybe you misunderstood me? Or maybe I couldn't find what your were speaking of.
It's in the offensive C4 section of the guide, but I see now that it isn't described that way.

It's a b-reversal that allows you to completely change your momentum and direction after dropping a C4.

I don't think there's any type of trick to doing it. Just jump, drop, and then immediately jump in another direction. I don't really do this myself, so I might be missing something.

i think you can actually use wave bounce and b-reversal interchangeably but yes that's what it is. you can do it with any b move that doesn't recover i believe and with just about any character http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TojIKgMPs6s not my video but it teaches everything you need to know, very useful technique

I'm still trying to figure that out...
wavebouncing =/= b reversal. Wavebouncing is the same but you stay in the same direction. B reversal flips the momentum and the direction. Also, with neutrial B moves, you may turn around with no change in momentum, only direction.

Three different things that should all be used differently.

yeah you're right ^ i assumed that because you can perform all three by b-sticking (not a good sacrifice and obviously not allowed in tourneys or so i think)
