Introduction
This thread's purpose is for discussing Olimar's secondaries. Each week, a character will be selected, and we'll discuss aspects such as when to switch according to match-ups and stages, what tricky match-ups they cover, etc. My goal is to find how characters compliment Olimar as secondaries. :D

As we all know, Snake is one of the best characters in the game. Naturally, he makes a terrific secondary for virtually any character. Olimar is no exception. Snake covers the majority of our hard match-ups, although he doesn't actually hard counter them. As for stages, <coming soon>

Good job making a new thread Llumys.

I don't do much doubles at all, nevertheless with Olimar. But I will participate in the secondary aspect. I find that easier for me.

Snake goes near even with MK, which is great. The Snake and Peach matchup is a slight advantage for Snake, maybe a solid advantage. The Snakeeach matchup is a little controversial, but it's definitely in Snake's advantage, even if it's small. A while ago I read the discussion thread of Snake:Luigi on the Snake boards, and they decided that it was an even matchup since Luigi kills early. Marth:Snake is slightly advantaged or solid advantage, pretty much in the same boat as the Snakeeach matchup.

Those are the matchups that an Oli would need a secondary for, right?

Pretty much. Although it might be worth mentioning other characters such as Wolf, Sheik, Zero Suit Samus, Squirtle, etc. N'jah, Snake handles all our hardest match-ups fairly well.

Anyway, is anyone experience with teaming with a Snake? I don't think I ever have. I know we're the supporting character, though. I'm not sure how the two characters would compliment each other.

imo snake makes a good partner for oli. he allows oli to camp back and stock tank with the benefit of random grab combos. snake is awesome at taking 2 on 1 when needed and he can be the aggressor in the matches because hes snake

as far as a secondary, im not sure

IMO, I don't think Snake could do as good of a job as a secondary, compared to someone else. I've seen the Oli match-up thread, and the Snake Match-Up thread, and even though Snake fares better against MK and a few other match-up, but with others, Oli does better (going by the numbers).

As a partner, you would have to keep track of the explosives, and help each other with camping, Oli doing most of it.

Snake can make MK less of a problem, ***** G&W, goes above even with Marth, beats peach and luigi by a large enough margin. Olimar takes care of D3, ROB, and goes even with himself, therefore taking care of the snake counters. I would say olimar+ snake is a good combination because they cover each others bad match ups, meaning that I don' t believe there is a single match up besides the broken MK that is worse then 50/50 when those 2 characters are put together.

When you said partners are you referring to teams matches?

And I vote for marth in Next weeks descusion.

Tin Man, based on how Llumys is going so far, it seems we're going in Tier List order, which is fine. I'd rather do that, tbh.

Snake is being my second main. he covers cover some of olis bad matchups and has nic range along with oli.

I won't start the next character until I get a little more constructive input. Once I have enough material, I'll summarize and begin the next character, who will probably be Wario.

I've decided to make this a secondary discussion thread for now, unless everyone insists on including partnership. I need some help finishing Snake's "stage" section, and "partner" section if wanted. Afterward, we can begin discussing homosexuality. Also, if anyone has anything else to add to Snake's comments, feel free to let me know.
