First off, let me say that this is my first and more likely than not my last post. I enjoy reading what everyone thinks on various topics, but all in all I'm not one that particularly cares to say anything much, though I must admit that I rather enjoy reading what you all have to say. Hence, the reason why I decided to step from the shadows and post this. I've not seen anything about it, and I'm a bit curious as to what you think.

In Melee, there was a mode called "Single Button Mode". On the Dojo it states that "Without Pikmin, Olimar can’t even do a Smash Attack. And the short-lived Pikmin tend to scatter. Theirs is a fated symbiotic relationship." It also very clearly states that to acquire Pikmin, Olimar must use his standard special move. My question to you is what solution, if any, would there be to this dilemma of Olimar and this problem of single button mode, presuming of course that it makes its return?

Everyone have a great day.

Sure that sucks. But after all, even in Melee, depending on characters, the importance of special moves is variable. Some characters will do reasonably well without B moves (think C.Falcon, Mario), while some others are kinda screwed (Fox without Shine/Lasers ? Come on now). Olimar will merely be part of those who are REALLY screwed.

Not that so many people care about single-button mode anyway.

interesting thought indeed. I suppose he will just run around picking up items and throwing them, unless items are deactivated.

Peach needed turnips for moves, but she had Three other moves Not using turnips. So, not necessary legit

Also, we are assuming that the "Single Button Mode" returns, I rather hope it doesn't. I never liked it.

I am more prone to use Special attacks.

First of all, who uses single button AT ALL?

Second, who cares about Olimar not being able to use Pikmin? He'd be just a regular character anyway, the rest can't do a third jump, sure you can't do Smash attacks, but who cares anyway? You're not going to play Single Button mode, right? So what's the problem?

id assume that olimar has a basic A attack without the pikmin. it would be rediculous if he didnt.

I don't think Single Button mode will make a return. If anything, I found it much harder than normal Melee and not as much fun (same with Fixed Camera and a couple others).

Well, we've seen the special Brawl screen, and IIRC there was no single button mode, so I don't think it'll return.

And if it does return, well, not big of a problem, it sucks anyway.

I even played coin battles more than this.

It looks like he pulls pikmin rapidly

Shouldnt be too much of a problem. Olimar for top tier!
I think the way he has a new unique moveset makes him a potentially great 1v1 character. I can see he may have problems with ice climbers where Nana can meat shield the pikmin while Popo dishes out the real damage. We'll have to test him out before being too pessimistic =D.

I hated the Single Button Melee since you couldn't use the Y or X buttons to jump. I highly doubt that it's returning since there are four different control schemes for this game.

Don't use Olimar for single button mode. That's the solution to your problem.

I don't think many people are going to be playing single button, but an 4 Olimar free for all on this mode would be nice.
