So basically, none of you have heard of me.
I main gw, second oli. Ranked 2nd on the Panama PR.
Finally got some vids up of my Oli, was hoping for a bit of critique. I've been using him as a secondary for about 2 months, so I could use some help. I know I need to recover better. XD

Zephil (Fox) vs Kewl (Olimar) I got legit just woke up/making breakfast johns here, but good nonetheless

Manugoyf (Wario) vs Kewl (Olimar) No johns here, this is basically how I usually play.

What a coincidence; I've finally got my first video, and it's vs a Wario as well ^v^ It was basically my first time playing a Wario, so I know there are lots of strategy things that I did poorly on (never again will I cp to Halberd, for one). I look like a worse player than I usually am, but I figure that some help can be gotten from it, so critique!

The first match went much better than the second, and I know I dodge roll too much o_o Btw this is against the guy who placed second, so I don't feel too bad about losing.

EDIT: Oh yea, and Fino has already informed me that dthrow->tether is a bad idea :)

Haven't finished the second match, but I already saw him punish your rolling for a kill at 1:41 and 2:26.

Hey Geddan, long time no post :) You should come on here more! Ok, so

1. Camp Link a LOT harder. I'm not sure why you wanted to get so close to him, but it's not all that necessary in this mu until you want to go for a kill. Your pikmin>all his projectiles, so abuse the **** out of that fact and make HIM come to you (and then punish him when he does :p)

2. Pay attention to your line more. At :37 you had two purples at the front, threw the first, sat in your shield, and then tried to grab with the second instead of throwing it. Maybe this was just a momentary lapse in concentration though, you know yourself better than I do ^v^

3. Speaking of line, as soon as you go off of the stage, see if you have a purple pikmin at the front of your line. At :45 you did, and if you had ledge hop thrown it at Link, you probably could've gotten back on; the same goes for after he pushed you back on the ledge a couple seconds later.

4. You seem to sit in your shield a lot, which usually leads to trouble for Oli since his OoS options aren't that great. I know well, because I have this same problem sometimes too :D Most important thing I can say with this is try to not approach with your shield, as in dash forward->shield->wait. Then again, try not to approach at all, at least in this matchup :) From the looks of it, camping would have solved a lot of your problems in this vid. It could have given you that little edge to win the match.

tl;dr: THROW MOAR PIKMIN!!!!!11one1ZOMGaPURPLE!!!

critique me please.

0:08 - don't roll into your opponent. don't roll at all really

0:19 - you fsmashed a purple. always throw them since they have crap range on fsmash and grab

1:01 - same thing with the purples. you would've punished jo if you threw the purple instead of trying to shield grab

nail that rainbow shield every time!

ya and what vocal said, don't sit in your shield

biggest thing i saw was improper use of purples

Purple fsmash is good. It's like a purple usmash with more horizontal range that lasts longer but comes out 3 frames later ;o.

why would you fsmash a purple over throwing one?

he wasn't going for a kill or anything at that percent

if theyre close, theres nothing wrong with a purple fsmash. i love how they send the opponent up, too.

Purple fsmash is useful. Situations for it aren't too common but often enough. If you can use purple fsmash you should since even if it won't kill it does plenty of damage and puts your opponent in an awkward position.

Just gotta know when to use it.

Ok, I just did something on accident that's related to this: purple fsmash>nado? Am I the only one who didn't know this? Of course it wouldn't be useful in most situations, but I was still shocked when it happened

I'm pretty sure that Purple fsmash doesn't beat tornado. The only way that happens is if you hit MK with it in the starting frames of tornado. In which case tons of moves beat it.

Okie doke guys! I'm finally posting some videos. I only have two Money Matches recorded, but I will try to get some replays from the upcoming Lakewood Bi-Weekly. I know it's gonna be a toughie with all the people who are going, so wish me luck!

First up...

Razmakazi is currently SoCal's best Peach main. I think the boards consider him a top Peach. I'll ask him later.

And on the other corner....

FlameWaveK. You guys may have heard of him or seen him. He's the kid with the Lucario hat and usually posts the SoCal replays. He's getting better recently.

I know that in some of the sets there are some fatal mistakes like the random tether after d-throw that I did in one of the sets, but let me assure you guys that it was just an input mistake. I already have a lost of things I am going to correct, but It can never hurt to have others' opinion. Unleash the criticisms! (Not too bad though, I'm starting anew).

LMAO! The last stock of the Peach set is priceless :D Good videos man; only thing I must say is something I only learned recently myself: NEVER try to nair->smash combo a Peach; her nair is too quick and it can put you in a bad situation

I like how you tend to just do empty jumps. YOu're also very patient, which is good against Peach.

When Peach edgehogged you you should've just uaired her, forcing her to come off, and then tether.

Don't pluck cancel when you're only a few inches away from Peach. -____-.

You use usmash OoS like a pro.

You're very observant and know exactly when you're opponent is vulnerable so that you can come in and ****, which is great lol.

I saw only the first two Peach matches. You play well.

About iNair and Peach, sometimes you can smash safely, sometimes you can shield safely, but most of the time Peach can just nair before you do anything. All depends on the many variables of inair.

I have thought about the U-air before tethering. But I forget sometimes. I will work on remembering to do that. Also, at what parts shouldn't I had pluck canceled? Thanks, I hope to hear more from you soon.

u can nair - shield her nair - usmash peach probly
I have also considered this. I will try it out especially since the Peach boards already reminded him of some things he's keeping a secret from me. Perhaps it is Nair'ing me after I Nair him.

Yeah, Nair is bothersome... But to be honest, we should talk about what we can do. We already have 2 options: 1) Nair>u-smash (not reliable) 2) Nair > Shield the nair> U-smash OoS (isn't Peach's nair two hits?)

If we happen to land a nair on him, i doubt rolling would be a good idea since peach can chase us after lag.
