What browser are you using?X_A said:Ugh this forum is freezing my browser...
Hmm, then I guess I'll have to do that... I'll have to find some way of changing the name "Zinth" first though...KOS-MOS said:It's a game that was created(so yeah I guess it's an official game that can be played, watched etc). Also I sent a message to Gideon asking him to change my name.![]()
Okay, try number 2. Lousy forum killing my browser.Vegafuse said:Whoa, X A, didn't expect to see you here. I see the problem in Tulsa, but there really isn't much SSBM going on over there as well. OKC is where it's really at, and the rest of the Smashers are scattered about the State. We did have some players in the Muskogee area, even though they haven't posted in like 2 months, I'll try to get a hold of them. No news over SSB64, however.
Regardless of the Tulsa situation, picking up SSBM is definitely worth the time and effort. We will have much more State-wide events coming soon (Not to mention the tourny on the 22nd, watch me kick some "A" with my low-tiers). Just give me a heads up if you're willing to compete seriously in this game. I'm moving to Tulsa in a couple months, so I can start you off with the basics.
BTW X-Alpha, is Hozanto in charge of any OKVE tournaments? Or just the fighting game aisle? I was under the impression that there is a lot of competition at the Funhouse arcade, especially considering T5, SC2, and even the old-school fighters. We all *know* how much Hozanto loves that.......
.
"Yayuhhz" indeed! Just as soon as I thought we got all the people that could go! Good show Zinth!Omega_Star said:Also, I've got some more good news for you guys. I contacted Dandude via MySpace, and he and some of his friends are going to try to make it to the tournament. Yayuhhz!
I see. Well, I may be in town for a good amount of time, perhaps over a year........ I guess we can recruit every known player their, and maybe even Muskogee, since apparently they still play.X_A said:Tulsa - check. Seems like there are some players, but if you move into town - that'll of course help. However - how long are you going to be here?
Right on. I have yet to have any doubts in the future of OK Smash, we're starting to attract more attention and interest ever since our first tournament......X_A said:Yes - I'm looking long term here heh.
LOL, I KNOW exactly what you're talkin' about! The competitive need is great............X_A said:When it comes to Tekken and Melee - everyone seems to be playing it / have some comp in their area. That's what I'm after - serious play, and thus a reason to travel and see old SC types. At this point, I'm willing to get into games I love less than others, just to be able to travel, and take care of that 'competitive need' one might say. Eh, it gives reason to travel, and meet interesting people.
Yeah, I guarantee you won't be dissapointed with Melee.X_A said:So yea. If I get into Melee, it will be serious and to be competitive. My complaints against Melee back in the day also were things less of a issue now - so meh. We'll see. The main options seem to be Tekken and Melee, with Naruto and VF falling behind. I've got friends that play all of them, but I'd like to find others as well, to establish that there is an actual interest, and so on, so forth.
Sounds cool. Hope you guys can make it, it's pretty much the biggest one for the rest of the Summer.X_A said:AS FOR THE TOURNAMENTS - where / when is 'smashfest'. I've seen you guys mention it, but no linking!@# Is that the AZ one?
I've got a friend and we are considering coming down for the 22nd tourny - but if there is a bigger tourny coming up / something closer - I wanted to know about it, and such.
Haha, that's good hear man. And if you can't make it on time, there's still hope. We may hold singles in the afternoon after teams, so that should buy you some time if you were planning to participate in 1v1's.mr_roboto said:Good news I might be able to make the tourney. Nothing official yet but we are getting back early on Saturday (Six o'clock in the morningish) and so if that happens I'm coming. Sorry that it won't give you much time to prepare, but if I can make it I'll bring my cube, but I'll probably have to borrow one of your memory cards Zinth.
Hahaha, yeah mangz!mr_roboto said:man just a few hours ago, everyone was talking about how this tournament was going downhill.....I'm liking the change.
Yussssssssss!!! Score three for Zinth!Reno_ said:hahaha, i think that's pretty awesome, zinth. i approve, 100%
The problem with CDs are they can only hold like 80 minutes or 700mb and they dont work on some dvd players. DVDs are the ****! The one I made KOSMOS has like 2 1/2 hours of smash on it, the one Im making Vegafuse is probably going to have the same amount. Bad thing about DVDs, they are a bit more than CDs, but I think the 4.7 gigs they hold are worth it!Reno_ said:sasori- i can burn you a cd of a bunch of smash with silent spectre, isai, some japanese players, forward, omar, and a bunch of other crap, for like a dollar(i need money to buy blank discs). if anyone else wants a copy for a dollar, hit me up.
