I totally hear the money thing, but you have a job now lol, you get paid. I just started mine so yah, still I havea bit of money to spend, though would rather not, I can set aside 10 dollars now for a tourny lol.

Team Zero has alot of work lol we expect it to be better when we finally get everything down lol.

600th post mangz!

Ahh, I don't have Linux, but I hear that it's free. Was that an official game, or just a fan product? I mean, wtf was Jigglypuff doing there? And HOMER SIMPSON??? Either way, it looks pretty cool, mainly because of the wide variety of characters to choose from. Jigglypuff would totally kick all of their *****

Also KOS-MOS, how did you get your name changed to "KOS-MOS" from "BloodLink"?

It's a game that was created(so yeah I guess it's an official game that can be played, watched etc). Also I sent a message to Gideon asking him to change my name. :)

Hmm, then I guess I'll have to do that... I'll have to find some way of changing the name "Zinth" first though...

GEEZ YOU GUYS POST ALOT. Explorer was the first browser, now firefox...

Whoa, X A, didn't expect to see you here. I see the problem in Tulsa, but there really isn't much SSBM going on over there as well. OKC is where it's really at, and the rest of the Smashers are scattered about the State. We did have some players in the Muskogee area, even though they haven't posted in like 2 months, I'll try to get a hold of them. No news over SSB64, however.

Regardless of the Tulsa situation, picking up SSBM is definitely worth the time and effort. We will have much more State-wide events coming soon (Not to mention the tourny on the 22nd, watch me kick some "A" with my low-tiers :p). Just give me a heads up if you're willing to compete seriously in this game. I'm moving to Tulsa in a couple months, so I can start you off with the basics.

BTW X-Alpha, is Hozanto in charge of any OKVE tournaments? Or just the fighting game aisle? I was under the impression that there is a lot of competition at the Funhouse arcade, especially considering T5, SC2, and even the old-school fighters. We all *know* how much Hozanto loves that.......
.
Okay, try number 2. Lousy forum killing my browser.

Tulsa - check. Seems like there are some players, but if you move into town - that'll of course help. However - how long are you going to be here?

Yes - I'm looking long term here heh.

When it comes to Tekken and Melee - everyone seems to be playing it / have some comp in their area. That's what I'm after - serious play, and thus a reason to travel and see old SC types. At this point, I'm willing to get into games I love less than others, just to be able to travel, and take care of that 'competitive need' one might say. Eh, it gives reason to travel, and meet interesting people.

So yea. If I get into Melee, it will be serious and to be competitive. My complaints against Melee back in the day also were things less of a issue now - so meh. We'll see. The main options seem to be Tekken and Melee, with Naruto and VF falling behind. I've got friends that play all of them, but I'd like to find others as well, to establish that there is an actual interest, and so on, so forth.

Honz and all that, sadly I don't know much about. I think I've met him? Not sure really -_-

AS FOR THE TOURNAMENTS - where / when is 'smashfest'. I've seen you guys mention it, but no linking!@# Is that the AZ one?

I've got a friend and we are considering coming down for the 22nd tourny - but if there is a bigger tourny coming up / something closer - I wanted to know about it, and such.

Good news I might be able to make the tourney. Nothing official yet but we are getting back early on Saturday (Six o'clock in the morningish) and so if that happens I'm coming. Sorry that it won't give you much time to prepare, but if I can make it I'll bring my cube, but I'll probably have to borrow one of your memory cards Zinth.

On a completlely unrelated note, Shade do you think that you could make me a sig? Everyone elses are all so pretty and shiny and I like shiny so if you can that would be freaking awesome if not than I will cry myself to sleep at night, j/k.

......maybe

Its official now my main is now Link, I like his style, and I got tired of Peach. I've been working with him for awhile, and lets hope that my Link fares better than my Peach did against you guys.

IE, hahaha...

Awesome Mr. Roboto, hope you can make it :chuckle:

I think I'll send a message to Gideon asking if he can switch the names of my two accounts around.

Also, I've got some more good news for you guys. I contacted Dandude via MySpace, and he and some of his friends are going to try to make it to the tournament. Yayuhhz!

"Yayuhhz" indeed! Just as soon as I thought we got all the people that could go! Good show Zinth!

I see. Well, I may be in town for a good amount of time, perhaps over a year........ I guess we can recruit every known player their, and maybe even Muskogee, since apparently they still play.

Right on. I have yet to have any doubts in the future of OK Smash, we're starting to attract more attention and interest ever since our first tournament......

LOL, I KNOW exactly what you're talkin' about! The competitive need is great............

Everyone here is pretty cool to get along with. So far we've had regular Smashfests (almost every week) since the first tournament, usually at RastaImposta's. I'm looking forward to the possibility of Bi-monthly tournies as well, with the one on the 22nd to kick it off. We'll also have OOS appearances from Kansas and Arizona, so we got plenty of competition over here, lol.

Yeah, I guarantee you won't be dissapointed with Melee.

Which Naruto are you talking about? Po pimpus, Fresh, and I play GNT4 and VF every once in a while. I would definitely get into those games, but VF might take forever to get decent in....... In GNT4, I mostly use Jiraiya, and I practically main Aoi in VF. I'd play SCII every once in a while too, I'm no good at it period, but I try to practice with Mitsurugi (sp?).

As for Tekken, I was into T5 for quite some time until Namco released those later versions. It had a pretty big scene from what I remember, and Cactus Jack's even launched a tournament right after they recieved their machine. I would still opt for Melee though, the basics are easy to learn, but it's impossible to master.....

Sounds cool. Hope you guys can make it, it's pretty much the biggest one for the rest of the Summer.

BTW, Smashfests are just what we call "get-togethers".

Haha, that's good hear man. And if you can't make it on time, there's still hope. We may hold singles in the afternoon after teams, so that should buy you some time if you were planning to participate in 1v1's.

I don't think we have anyone that seriously uses Link though.......

Hmm indeed, mr_roboto is our first Link main. I know that KOS-MOS plays with Link from time to time, but I don't know how seriously he uses him.

Well, I've made a request to Gideon to change my name to "Zinth" so hopefully that'll work out :chuckle:

Also if somebody wants or needs a partner, I'd be happy to do 2V2. Now I don't promise to be that good for ya, but I'll be willing to try lol.

Hehe, guess which charater I started using. Jigglypuff! I was just using random characters to mess around and see if any of the others were any good and found that Jigglypuff is awesome. To bad I don't have anu human opponets to face play against. Well, until tomorrow or the day after anyways. I also found that Ice CLimbers kick a fair amount of *** to. :)

Hey, are there any sites(besides this one) that have a lot of Pro SSBM videos? Cause I can never find vids of the players I am looking for on this site or on Google Video.

I've looked in the 1v1 section, but I cannot find videos of specific people that I am wanting to see. (PC Chris, Killa OR, Chu Dat, Isai, ect.) Most of what I have seen are videos of smashers that come to this site. Maybe I overlooked some or something. I dunno *shrugs*

Hey, is there a way to upload a VHS recorded video to the computer? Or can you only upload videos recorded with a digital camera?

best smash vids: http://boards.ign.com/super_smash_bros_/b5213/116690605/p1/?4

anywho, we may have a new smasher in norman. he was playing SSBM today with scud and i for the FIRST TIME, and he was, not great, but not bad. the impressive thing was, he saw brett wavedash and he goes, "how do you do that?" and i said, "oh, it's a glitch in the game called wavedashing. you jump, airdodge, and land so quickly that it skips most of the animation and you just slide. so, basically you just push X and then right or left diagonally down with R". and then he did it on his first try...with that very bland instruction. WTF!!!!! haha, and then he learned how to grab...how insane is that.

sasori- i can burn you a cd of a bunch of smash with silent spectre, isai, some japanese players, forward, omar, and a bunch of other crap, for like a dollar(i need money to buy blank discs). if anyone else wants a copy for a dollar, hit me up.

Awesome Reno, hope that guy becomes a regular!

Also guys, the almighty genius president Zinth has came up with a name for the Smash tournaments proceeding this up coming one. Get ready for...

O.H.S.N.A.P.
Oklahoma Hosts Smash - Need A Pummeling?

I think we should start naming our tournaments that starting the tournament after this one, so we can get full advertisement value out of it.

The problem with CDs are they can only hold like 80 minutes or 700mb and they dont work on some dvd players. DVDs are the ****! The one I made KOSMOS has like 2 1/2 hours of smash on it, the one Im making Vegafuse is probably going to have the same amount. Bad thing about DVDs, they are a bit more than CDs, but I think the 4.7 gigs they hold are worth it!
I dont have many vids of silent spectre or Isai, you wanna send me some?

Sasori, check youtube, they usually have more than video google.

It's true, there are more Smash vids on YouTube. I personally prefer Google Video because it lets me download the video to iPod format, but YouTube has more of it.
