Oklahoma Thread: Weekly events for all games in OKC and Tulsa

There seems to be a good chance there won't be smash at MLG Dallas.

Since smash is no longer in the "pro circuit" it likely won't be at the main events (from what I can tell at least).

However they keep saying they have something in store for smash, so I'd wait for that info (and likely corresponding dates) before getting too excited.

1) i would allow Gt in, but (no offense) none of his friends, since i like...know none of them.
and yes, you should join, and then help us find a good name. plus, we don't have a samus...no one has a samus, since andy IS the samus of OK pretty much. i have a scrub samus, but that hardly counts.

2) coty, if you're staying in OK you should be another AEGIS member (we have no jiggly!). then we could make Taco Bell the official food of the AEGIS crew. actually, even if you're not staying in OK, you could be our arizona affilate!

3) OHKO, watch out, we might be growing

4) brett, if you went to MLG dallas i would ride with you. and that'd be awesome, we could own up in teams.

5) no smash at mlg dallas would kind of ruin all of those plans, so i dunno. we'll wait and see. they better not be trying to wait for brawl. that would be hella lame, since brawl probably won't even reach the deadline of 6/1, seeing as how it's still unofficial as of now.

It's fun and all but it's a lot of hype, if someone asks if your a gamer they're assuming you play Halo most of the time, I don't even have Xbox live and I suck.

Anyways I've been coming up with a better combo than counter to F-smash...
It's for high %,
**like a shffl'd nair to knock them to the other side of the field
chase with a double fair,
FF to an uthrow,
catch them with uair,
FF to either a fsmash, utilt, or usmash**
Depending on the occasion/response of my opponent...
Whaddya think?

well, i was supposed to seed by location and skill.

so it was the obvious choice. and it was partally random after i got most of the matchups out of the way, i just remembered to seperate teammates.


as for your combos, you don't need to FF a double fair, but i really do like double fairs to grab, since marth has a long grab range it actually works sometimes, fairing far away enough to not get sheildgrabbed but to where you can grab them after an l-cancel. any 2 of those moves in succession are impossible at high percentages, though, due to knockback, DI, and shorter stun periods than you think. marth's best kills are up+b kills, that's all i know.

Wtf, why would they do that? They couldn't survive without Chu Dat there to strike poses! All of their publicity would instantly become boring! And Halo pros are boring whities anyway >_>

MLG has big plans for Smash in 2007. Over the last three years, Major League Gaming has helped the Smash community develop high standards of quality for major tournaments and pushed the game to new levels of competitive play. MLG will continue that tradition in 2007 with a new approach to competitive Smash that will take place outside of the Pro Circuit. Stay tuned in the coming weeks for details.

Hmm, I hope it's not some pushed-aside, watered down version of what it once was Either way, I hope there'll be an event that I'll be able to attend >_>

Meh, IMO, "skill" is a bit of a broad term to compare Melee to, say, Third Strike. They both have their own demand for game knowledge and technical execution, and unfortunately, they both have lame *** top-tiers I'd say VirtuaFighter4 is the most advance fighting game I've ever played, but there isn't really much competition for it anyways (I also don't find it quite appealing as SSBM and 3S, personally)

besides the food, the other thing is, bring your own controller Gt
and yeah, it will be a little packed. i also need 1 person to bring a TV, and 2 people to bring gamecube/smash setups. zinth, your camera would be nice, esp. since we'll probably do the honorary crew battle, as we do at every event (they are SO fun. at least the close ones, i mean.)
