you got most of it right. but when ever your imitating the s sound, always use the "su" character.

so it would be

ahhh crap i'll get it to you in 10 minutes, im on my up stairs computer with no, japanese keyboard on it, unlike my labtop.

you got most of it right though good job. But........thats hiragana, not katakana. do you want it in katakana? i'll just give you both.

ok, here it is in Hiragana.

どこいす

here it is in katakana

ドコイス

and here it is in kangi

何処いす

you are supposed to use the katakana for american stuff, if its japanese originally though, use hiragana.

ooo, thanks :)
i feel 10x smarter

edit: heh, i read wikipedia's "katakana alphabet" section and tried to translate it by the sound. apparently it wasn't even katakana! stupid internet, lying to me :p
thanks, though, it helps a ton.

When is the next tourney or smashfest or something. I still haven't got to have a singles match with anyone yet, because at OHSNAP 1 I only did doubles and at OHSNAP 2 I was going to do both, but didn't get to come back the 22nd to do the singles. We P.V. people want to do some singles with all you guys, just to see where we rank.

Man, I forgot how fun King of Fighters 2003 was. I just bought it today and I've been playing it since.

I even have my own custom team with matching colors lol..so yeah, next smashfest I wanna see if I can win against you Vega.
I'm not too familiar with KOF2k3 (besides the obvious), but I guess I'd just pick Kim's default team. Either that, or switch Chang out for Goro (Daimon). What system did you get it on? BTW, try to bring GGXX#R and SFIII:3S, and any others next smashfest! ;)

Keroku, hopefully you can make the monthlies man, we barely get to play you. Do your friends still practice smash?

Paul's Valley kids, singles would be good, especially since I have yet to play you guys. We have upcoming monthlies beginning Feb. 3rd in the Union's Sooner room (the same place as the first OHSNAP), we have a thread dedicated to it now, so you can check it out for details (it's fused with the old power rankings one).

KEDO quit, but he was never much of a player anyways. Vandal still plays a little. I don't know about Zape though.

On some unrelated news, I picked up Peach, but I suck dramatically with her.
I am practicing with her, so I'll get better.

RisingKen, Pablo, you guys up for some Street Fighter Alpha? 2 or 3, it doesn't really matter to me. I'll also see if I can convince Mark to dust off his Narutimett Hero 3 and bring that. I have yet to get into Guilty Gear, but I wanna try it... I loves me some 2D Fightin'!

XD

Sorry mangz, but Sundays are homework days for Zinth :dizzy:

King of Fighters... I played that at Chuck E. Cheese's... it did not tell me how to do any good attacks... mindgames were inapplicable... I got owned by the computer :(

I might download Street Fighter to my Wii one of these days though... because I want to have arcade fighting skills too... so I can pwn the machines at Chuck E. Cheese's >_>

Speaking of Wii downloads... I downloaded Super Mario Bros.... it's intriguingly fun, even for being 20 years old, but I must say...

**** THE HAMMER BROS.

Hazy and any Dallas people who may be reading this, add me to your Wii, dammit.

I can bring SFA 3 for playstation 2 and pablo, I have KOF 2k3/2k2 for Xbox.

So here's what all I'll bring:

Street Fighter 3 (anniversary collection for xbox)
KOF 2k3/2k2
Street Fighter Alpha 3
Guilty Gear XX2 Reload
Soul Calibur 3
Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution
Marvel vs Capcom 2

I think that pretty much covers everything, right?

Edit: Zinth, fighting classics like Street Fighter are different from SSBM. There are types of mind games, I guess, but it's more of just comboing and beating the hell out of your opponent.

Edit 2: Based on my description of the games, I now realize why I suck at SSBM...I tried convertin from combos and pure fighting with low mind games to a game where you need to use a ton of mindgames...no wonder why I suck.

Which one? If you didn't use a Mac I could set you up with MAME and we could practice >_>

So anybody who is intrigued by the prospect of online arcade fighters, drop me a line >_>

OH I knew I was forgetting something.

I don't have Armageddon, I only have Deception and Deadly Alliance.

So along with those, I'll bring MKD and MKDA

Edit: I have all of those for mame except Darkstalker, KOF 97 and Alpha 2 I play like KOF 2000 and 2002 on Mame.

and shade, do you mean the guy in White (Ky Kiske)? Cause for some reason I think you would use him.

ill try my hand at all these fighting games, and if theres something that interests me, ill practice it...but at the moment its only smash bros for me.

the idea of starting from scracth in a fighting game doesnt appeal to me very much.

i stilll remember the months where i couldnt wavedash, or missile cancel or anything, and now all i have left are super wavedashing and windmill of fury...atleast as far as tech goes...

i need to find the first videos im in....i remember in my first recorded fight, i wavedashed ONCE. it was to edgehog....now it seems that edgehogging may or may not be what im known for.

but either way its a humorous video.

-edit- double post? i dont remember doing this...oh well. it was an accident. pretend these posts are one post...

Other fighting games aren't as hard as Smash, imo.

Just pick a character you really like, and master their moves. After you know them inside out, combos are pretty easy.

edit: Yeah, shade, he's pretty good. He's my 3rd or 4th best character in Guilty Gear. My best are either Sol Badguy (swordsman in red and black) or Chipp Zannuf (guy with the white spikey hair and wears black.)

Lol, apparently it's true...

It's funny, because I've beaten Ruby and Emerald Weapons on FFVII, Omega Weapon on FFVIII, Ozma on FFIX, Omega and Shinryu on FFI (GBA), Culex on Super Mario RPG, the Savage Labyrinth on Wind Waker, gotten every star on Super Mario 64 (N64 and DS), caught every Pokemon on red version, cleared New Super Mario Bros. and Kirby's Adventure 100%, am ranked 4th in the OK power rankings in SSBM, and yet Super Mario Bros. is 20 years old, was my first game ever, and I have never once beaten it.

*sigh* They just don't make 'em like they used to... :(

Yeah, I kinda figured that arcade fighters were all about pulling off super moves and combos and just generally beating the **** out of your opponent. It pisses me off how the arcade machines never tell you how to do any of the super moves though, so I want to get good at them so I can kick the ***** of all the machines. However, Smash will always be number one for me. Mindgames ftw.

Here's a tip for street fighter and king of fighters:

For most characters (especially in KOF) there is a universal super move: Down Right Down Right (or 2 quarter circle) punch. Try it if you don't know the character's super moves. For the most part, it should work.

Dude sadly button mashing wins the day on more fighting game than i woul like. lol, the only other game i play thats a fighting game and actually try on is soul caliber, because link is awsome and so is Taki!

I think i have done everything possible on most all the games i own. But I end up selling alot of them after a while,

I wish i didn't sell my zelda ocarina of time though, i spent alot of time on that thing, and it was so fun.

I got everything, and all hearts, but I found them on my own, And the biggorons sword with out the hoarse, cus i didn't know it existed lol. i was so proud lol. and i got a 21 pound fish by accident when i was reeling it in, right before it got to me, the fish jumped on, and it was like, WOW this thing is huge lol.

Any way, how do you put in kangi andy?

psh, i beat ultima weapon on ff8. Got all the masks on majora's mask. Beaten ocarina of time numerous times. (all the way through) got through most of the first disk in 7, then lent it to babac. It no longer works, also the second disk has a chunk missing out of it. I can't think of much else right now.

edit

that's like the rule with mortal kombat.

step 1) choose a character
step 2) try either back back forward, back forward forward, back forward back, forward back forward, forward forward back, or forward back back and low punch
step 3) congratulations, you have used a projectile or other special move attack.

edit: i will also bring dragon ball z: budokai tenkaichi 2, SC2, the bouncer, tekken tag, and war gods to any smashfest. i can only bring war gods, though, if someone else brings a 64. we will then also have to play a lot of goldeneye/perfect dark and conker's bad fur day. not to mention smash64. BYOC, *****es.

in other other news, MPO is the first metal gear solid I've really played (because a certain someone that holds down the floor wouldn't let me borrow MGS3), and man it's awesome.
