I'd take the title of Smashfest Holder if I had a magical playhouse with lots of talking furniture and puppets... but I don't. Go figure :ohwell:

Gasp guys, I might actually start practicing Smash again tomorrow! :o

Happy New Years lolz.

Happy New Years, everyone!

The count-down this time around was particularly one of the better ones for me.

As a solution to the probable lack of smashfests, we can look forward to the up-and-coming Monthlies hosted by our very own Po Pimpus. Cheers.

Hey, know what'd be cool? If we had a monthly on the anniversary of the first Oklahoma tournament! Which would be... February 4th. Though that's on a Sunday, so I guess it'd have the same effect for the sake of convenience if we held it on the day before. Cause you know, Sunday's the day that I do all of my homework >_>

i vividly remember the first oklahoman tournament was the last weekend of janaury.
Oho, but when you were referring to the previous year you referred to it as 2007 rather than 2006, so your credibility has dropped! Besides, I marked on my calendar when the tournament happened, it was February 4th. Maybe you were remembering a date that it was going to be on but then got pushed back? Also, February 4th did run off of the last week of January, so you may have developed a misleading maxim from that. We should Smash this Thursday though. We can Smash on my Wii, with the glory of lag-free FoD and Mute City! That rhymed lolz!

Anyway, I've started uploading videos to my YouTube again. I should have the last match of the finals up really soon, and then I'll work my way down from there.

Also, do any of you remember who each of the VCRs was brought by? I know that CC brought one, but that's about it.

This will be the corniest thing ever but here it goes...

Alex, do you have a virus?

Sneezing shouldn't stop you from backspacing...
Unless you do have a computer virus.

Anyways, Bryan, get the prank up once you finish the finals...
I just gotta relive that moment.

man, i coulda swore it was in january, i mean, i was 98% sure....

probably dont remember that but whatever.

but seriously...it was the same day is the winter ball last year, which i coulda swore was in january, my memories tell me the 28th, and a quick check tells me that is a saturday...

woot for altered memories. brain, chair, gun.

ill believe you i suppose, but hopefully some other people wil input so my mind can be at ease.

im still confident enough to bet money on it, however...

Yes! It's almost time, people. Just to recap, the location is the

Oklahoma Memorial Union,
900 Asp Ave. Suite 428
Norman, Oklahoma

Start time is 1PM for 2vs2, 1vs1 will follow shortly after 2vs2 wraps up.
If you're bringing TVs and cubes and such try to arrive around 12NOON so we can start this thing on time...

We'll be in the Sooner Room on the first floor. (If you go to the website: union.ou.edu, its under "Sooner Saturday" in events) Everyone's read and understands the rules, right? Everyone who said they can bring cubes and TVs and such will remember to bring them I hope. Anyone who can help us as far as recording (tapes, VCRs, camcorders) please post saying so.
BRING YOUR OWN CONTROLLER!!

Oh yeah, we still don't have a name for this thing, do we? Lame stuff like "Sooner Smash" and "Oklahoma Tournament" are just too plain. We need a cool name for this thing... Any ideas? I'll run some names by Vegafuse and we'll take any suggestions under serious consideration. I probably won't be back on until later tonight, so if there's any updates (people bringing equipment, people dropping out :( ) just post saying so. I can't wait... Let the hype commence!
It'll be some days before they're up. When we just do one of our own video recording sessions, it takes him the entire day to do them =o And then there's the process of selecting music and making them into movies. Could potentially be done by the end of this coming week, though with school and whatnot, I dunno. Needless to say, he's certainly going to have his work cut out for him =\ Too bad I don't have the equipment to do that too, otherwise I'd help. I'm going to make a web page with the bracket on it where you can click on each match to see its videos.

I thought the tournament turned out great. It was great getting to meet you all and having challenging opponents. It was also great getting to record all the good battles that took place. I took the data from the brackets (which I will always have, part of history) and made these brackets with them, just to get the results out to the public. Once I get the videos, I will do more extravagant things =p

andy, this leads me to believe that it took place on feb. 4th.
edit: err, apparently the post itself isn't quoted anymore.
anyway, the first post was posted feb. 3rd, 2006
and the second is from feb. 4th, 2006

As much as I hate to admit it, and I really hate to admit it, Boise deserved the win. They just flat out played better than OU... ****it. I thought we were gonna win when we went into overtime but noooo... so close.

i just like learning words in a few languages. in 8 1/2 years i will be fluent in these, if not more:

english (check!)
latin
american sign language
french
japanese
spanish

the college i'm going to is basically a linguistics school, and that will be most of my major. all the grad schools i'll apply to will be for languages, too.

edit: zinth, i saw your new vids on youtube. i have some marth advice- a little more fair out of the sheild. you're too defensive after sheilding sometimes if you can't sheildgrab, but that's often how some of the magic happens. but yeah, just some advice from a mediocre player, take it or leave it :)

February 3rd, huh?
Can't wait.
Any smashfests before it?

Also, VG club has some pretty good smashers...
Okay, so it's only 4 good ones.
I tried telling one of them about OHSNAP 2 and he seemed interested, but I haven't seen him since I told him about it, he plays an okay sheik.
Then there's this annoying littlish kid who has the most annoying spamus there is.
This one dude mains a mean roy,
and then there's my friend who's an okay doc.

None of them know about the Advanced techs

How funny, I just beat Zelda, lolz.

Lol ok Hazy, I'll keep that in mind. For realz.

Gt, I'm inclined to believe that you still have the last tape with footage on it, because after importing everything I've got I still don't see the last stuff you recorded, like AustinRC vs Vegafuse and Caveman vs Smiles.
