No way, Ryker. I never would have known what those meant, had they not been defined for me!

THIS THREAD CHANGED MY LIFE.

Why is it important to you to label everyone?

Not all people who are Expert Gamers are people who are Hardcore Gamers.
Someone who spends a lot of time on video games is someone who has a lot of experience in Video Gaming.

I think those two have flawed descriptions.

Expert Gamer would be someone who is inherently very skilled at video games.
Hardcore Gamer would be someone who spends a lot of time and/or has a lot of experience playing video games.

It's not. That's why I made this: because people keep using the terms in completely incorrect ways!
So you know what the correct terms are. For hardcore gamer, you defined it as a lot of experience. What is a lot of experience? How many hours is that? What number of hours does a casual gamer play? Is there even a correct definition of different types of gamers? To some people who play MLG, people who don't play in MLG for money might be considered casual gamers. Everyone has different definitions for different types of gamers. Who's to say your definitions are correct?

Well look at Smash, there are some players who are naturally pretty good at the game, but you can only go so far with natural talent.. In order for someone to be a true Expert at a certain game, they have to practice it a lot to be considered an expert. And someone who plays video games a lot is considered a hardcore gamer. (according to this at least)

And @Master Xanthan: Any gamer who will want to enter a gaming tournament, I would consider a hardcore gamer. No casual gamer would go out of their way to a tournament unless they really wanted to go. A casual gamer probably wouldn't take a video game as seriously as that.

It isn't hours that means a lot of Experience, it's years!

Hardcore / Casual are terms that describe how often and in what amounts somebody plays.

What's the point of this thread?
One reason is to make gamers stop using "Casual Gamer" as an insult
