That's right kiddies, I'm running a small scale SSBB tournament on the February First!
What's that? Yes, hot ****, indeed.
Given my nasty habit of importing lame *** Naruto games, my roommate and I own a japanese wii, with a copy of brawl pre-ordered from play asia, and Slated for arrival for January 25th. This, being a full 2 1/2 weeks early. I do know, however, of rumors about delays, push backs, etc... If this is the case, this tournament may have to be delayed given I won't actually have the game!
But for now, to shine light, I give you not rules; A few tid bits:
A: First off, we'll only have one setup. If you do decide to come, please keep in mind it will be a long night. If half as many people show up as I'm expecting, I'd say this might go well into the morning. But you don't care, because it's smash, and you love it.
B: No person, including myself, who touches the game before this tournament will be allowed entry. After every round I'll be running a small lotto to let spectators, and people looking for friendlies play a 3-stock, FFA.
C: Any arguing, excessive cursing, fighting, littering, or anything your grandmother would yell about is so strictly prohibited, it's disgusting. Warnings will be given on certain cases, but my patience is limited, and I will kick you right the hell out. And you know what? I'll enjoy it.
D: This is NOTNOTNOT mlg. The rules will be close to our beloved Melee practices, but not all stages will be available. I'll form some kind of committee on stage/character bans. Odds are, not many will care. But those who do, keep in mind the game is fresh, and we need to eliminate any unfairness. Items will be off, sans the Smash ball thing, which for now will be on. After I've a week with the game, I'll make the judgment call on whether or not to include it.
E: Housing is ****ed limited. If you don't live close, then ask around. I've no room to spare. If any people attending give housing to Out Of State-ers, you'll be waved the house fee. Which leads to:
F: There's a house fee!! Yay! The venue so far is still up in the air. It will be in or around Old Bridge, NJ. The New Brunswick train station is close, as well as Matawan. Anyone who would pick people up, let me know.
Now, because of the limited Brawl station(s), I will only be running Singles, given it's the more preferred of the two. If I see a bigger interest in teams, I'll switch it, or run another tourn the next day/week.
What would be helpful: Since, like discussed, there is only one Brawl, I will also be hosting Melee Singles, and if enough interest, doubles. We'll probably need two or three extra set ups, so if anyone could bring, please let me know. I will wave part, or all of the house fee.
As for entry fees, Prizes, etc, please give me another week to generate all these things. It really all depends on the amount of people who're willing to go. If it's a big turnout, or looks to be, I'll find a Cyber cafe, or small hall to do it in. If not, we can hold it at someone's house.
If you have any specific concerns, don't be afraid to PM me.
