Bowser definitely seems like he rose up a few placements.

It sucked, because the FFA matches sucked (mostly), and trying to commentate FFA matches is so reactionary that no meaningful comments were made.I dunno what the commentary was like earlier, but Scar and Toph are doing a very good job.
Well a carry is better than nothing. A lot of good commentary duos consist of a lead and a *ahem* "sidekick" if you will.It sucked, because the FFA matches sucked (mostly), and trying to commentate FFA matches is so reactionary that no meaningful comments were made.
I'm not convinced it has improved all that much, though, honestly.
Scar is carrying the commentary, basically.
At the E3/BestBuy demo, there were different characters in the Wii-U version than the 3DS version. The 3DS version had Shiek and ToonLink which were not available on the Wii-U. This is consistent with what we're seeing here.I know Nintendo said it was the same as the E3 demo, but aren't there different characters? I didn't see ZSS on the select screen and I don't remember Luigi, Sheik or Yoshi being playable.
Maybe I'm just thinking of the available characters in the Invitational, IDK.
It's definitely easy to detect stats though. For instance, look at the knockback Bowser has. That's way too noticeable to ignore. You can see how fluid is movements are and how powerful his grabs are. You can see Brawl's Bowser is nothing compared to Sm4sh Bowser. There's just too many people using him. I wanna see Marth, Mario, Link, etc. But I guess people felt most safe with Bowser.I think it's reeeeally difficult to comment on characters being "too good" vs "too bad" from a single match. It's very hard to know how much of a player's dominance is actually due to the character's strengths/weaknesses.
Maybe the Shiek was nervous, had bad timings and/or spacings on her moves, employed a strategy inappropriate for the Shiek-Bowser matchup, etc. But it seems like after the first kill she just started playing poorly. We saw Shiek vs Bowser on a much larger stage, and the Shiek was very capable of running away and needling all day. It could be a 90-10 matchup in Shiek's favour for all we know at this point.
And who knows what techniques or tactics exist in the game that we simply haven't discovered yet.
Yeah I loved playing Toon Link but i can never do anything right with him intill i warmed up abit.Bowser vs Bowser: the new metagame. lol
OK bowser does look really amazing. But let's keep in mind that Bowser's also a relatively simple character to play. ToonLink and Sonic, for example, have always been more technical and awkward to play well unless you have had time to study the character.
I feel like Bowser seems easy to take out, but he's in the Grand Finals so I guess not xDMy guess: tourney winner gets to play vs Bill who gets to use pacman. Maybe not tho
I always liked those "difficult to master" characters because though it might take time, you'll eventually understand their playstyle completely. There's no room to improve if you keep winning with Bowser using the same tactics.Bowser vs Bowser: the new metagame. lol

I've played Smash Run on it, and it wasn't that badfor those that have played the 3ds version, is it a hassle to view your % ? I'd prefer it on the top screen but i guess it would take up too much room
This is why you set realistic expectations for yourself. So many "RIOT" posts...
Edit: My favourite is "where is my surprise?". Yes, because if you were expecting a newcomer reveal, then it is definitely a surprise one. -.-
Not at all. Larry losing from the first was purely luck, it's an FFA, what do you expect? He showed a dominant performance. I can't say this was 'underdog' at all. This has definitely turned into an underdog story
I'm honestly surprised at all the people complaining that there's no reveal. So many "RIOT" posts...

The amount of Bowser users has increased one-hundredfold this day...Bowser is the new Broken Knight. Also, NO CHARACTER REVEAL!![]()
At E3, the characters available on the wii u differed from the ones on the 3ds. I'm pretty sure Sheik, Luigi, and Yoshi were only playable on the 3ds version.I know Nintendo said it was the same as the E3 demo, but aren't there different characters? .... That's what he said... :/You mean his down-B? He always had an aerial up-B.
