Been a while since I posted a mod, but here's a slightly upgraded stage select screen file that allows for a greater variety of designs for the cursor. As you may already know if you've tried to change it, the SSS cursor is normally grayscale, with a mirrored design (on both the x and y axis). With this file, you can use color, along with fully asyncronous designs (no mirroring):

Also included are 4 cursors I made, and an image you can use with this file for the vanilla cursor (in case you want to swap it back in or make something based off of it). I made 4 cursors since there are 4 pages in 20XX HP. I'm still debating on whether or not it makes more sense to use the vanilla cursor on the first page (to match with the fact that all the stages there are vanilla) or to use the new cursor (to match the cursors on the other pages).

I am at the point where I could properly make this via model editing. With all the new stuff going on with the advent of Akaneia and m-ex I'm a little overwhelmed with other projects. One day lol.

Open the battlefield map in HSDraw.

Navigate to "map_head/ModelGroups/Array_6" and double click the JOBJ RootNode.

Click on the Objects tab.

Select the 23rd option (You should see the rings have a mesh around them in the preview to indicate you have selected the right part.)

At the bottom in the Parameters section is where you can change the color and more.

After you've made changes you can select another part to move the mesh away and see what it looks like in the preview window.
I'm not sure if you can put a texture on it. This part works differently then other part with textures.

Looks like a modified version of Dark Link.

If you have some basic knowledge with an image editor like paint.net or photoshop. You can export the textures from the dark link dat with DAT texture wizard. And change the shield/scabard textures to black and white with an effect or mask.
