That's why I'd suggest that 3DS Falcon would be the best way to go about that, if someone were to import him into Brawl. It's the same design as SmashU Falcon, very close in shape and texturing (in fact, one could probably downscale some of his WiiU texturing and slap that on his 3DS model for a look closer to SmashU), but with the benefit of (presumably) not making Gamecubes or Dolphin cry.

If anyone wants to see if there's anything to be done with his 3DS model and textures, here they are.

Still my 2nd and 3rd skin, but I improved them both quite a bit. Really love the way both of them look at the moment, so I consider these done.

Replaces white
Changed the fire into some electric looking stuff. Gave him a scar. Sick af bruh. Polished some other **** as well.

Replaces blue
New face. All the "reflection textures" have been changed to all-white in this one, making all the textures that have one of them a lot more reflective. Gives a nice effect. I also made the transitions from colour to colour smoother, as well as making both gloves blue instead of pink as I think it was getting too pink, thus not really fitting as a blue skin. Changed some other **** too.

Does anyone know if OP's still editing new skins into the original post?

I have green/blue lasers for fox/falco w/ rainbow shine, purple fire fox/bird, and red phantasm in my personal build. I can upload that one if you want it?

How to change laser colors, some of the pictures are down, but it really isn't hard to do so you can make them any color you want.

I figured this would be the best thread to ask in. Are any of you guys willing to look into making a lower poly count model of smash 4 falcon. The one for brawl is still not low enough.
I'm giving it a go.

I made it 4,113 verts, 3,780 faces 7,510 tris compared to 3,743 verts, 5,362 faces, 5,385 tris in the melee version and 6,071 verts, 11,365 faces and 11,356 Tris in the wiiu brawl version. So it is much smaller, but not quite melee, but it didnt loose too much quality.

left is original

I could go lower if needed but the quality would have to go down a little as well

The only problem is i can't import it into brawlbox properly. The model looks fine in 3ds max and even in the brawlbox preview, but in game in brawl some of it is distorted, like the limbs. it also comes up distorted even in the preview if i just replace the mesh in brawlbox. Could anyone who has experience importing from 3ds max to brawl hit me up?

importing can be tricky ;)

Could you post a screenshot? Also what's going on with his scarf in your MAX preview?

Can you pm me the dae or pac file. It might not matter for my purposes. And at some point I should probably look into importing dae files.

sure, i have two failed import methods. the left one is where i replace the whole mesh with the lower poly mesh. it screws up the limbs. the right is where i import the objects object by object. each individual object and their placement is fine but i guess it messes with the bones as falcon comes out in that T position. the node count for that model was also very low.

the scarf weirdly comes out even more broken in brawl, but only when a texture is applied to it. without a texture it doesnt have those gaps in it. it actually comes out best in 3ds max (the screenshots before were blender) where the shadow is just a bit strong.

oh and the shading is bad on both but i didnt try fixing it

Can We get modulus organised where each character / character color has a subsection like it is on here?

I believe the current system is fine, if you search "red fox" you are going to get what you want.
Not entirely,

Maybe when you add a Melee mod, have a checkbox that asks if its a character skin. If they check it, have 2 dropdown boxes show up and select which character and which color. With this info maybe you can have a section called "Skins by Color" under the Melee section.

I know that on Dolphin you can get Melee in HD. Are there any links to HD textures for every skin for console?

reposting from the dtw thread because this one might be more help

not sure if this is the place for this but I've been trying to make a Boo skin for Jigglypuff and want to have the big Boo smile, which it looks like I would have to edit the size and shape of the mouth to do. How would I go about doing that?

Pic attached, the skin as it stands lol

copy the text of each spoiler into two separate text files and rename them import_vert.py and export_vert.py, then place them in C:\Program Files\Blender Foundation\Blender\.blender\scripts (you may have to turn on hidden folders to get here)

absolutely all credit goes to tcll

zankyou will probably be making this method redundant pretty soon though
