I've been playing Pokemon for a while now, and I feel I have enough experience to be able to share things with other people, and help them out. I've played vs the best players, consistently also, so I can also speak about high level play. Ask anything you want, and maybe I'll ask you guys something too. ^_^

A 57-2 record doesn't mean anything. First off, you've only played about 60 games. I've played over 1,000 matches with many DIFFERENT people. My list gets filled up now and then so I have to delete some on my friend's list just because I enjoy playing people I've never played before. I can't say that my win to loss ratio is as good as your 57-2 but I know for a fact that if you were to continute playing maybe...A LOT more games, you would lose more often.

I'm just telling you to stop thinking so highly of yourself. It's not a good way to introduce yourself. Who cares if you **** at this game. Why don't you go ahead and tell that to smogon?

No dude lol. I'm on a 57-2 streak right NOW. I've played well over 2000 matches, most likely. No one's good enough to start off playing competitively, play 59 matches and only lose 2. I lost a lot in the beginning, but now I don't. Kinda makes me mad that you say if I were to continue playing a lot more games I would lose lol. I understand that I introduced myself wrong, and I apologize for that. But your last sentence...Dude...Tell that to Smogon? Why don't I just become head referee for the largest online Pokemon ladder, invite all the Smogon people, and then beat every one of them? Oh wait, I did that already. Anyways, there are only about 4 people from Smogon that can beat me consistently. I speak with 3 of them daily about the metagame, and we discuss strats and new ideas together, meaning that WHOOOLE metagame you see on Smogon/Shoddy? Yeah, me and a few other Smogon admins don't lose to that metagame. Also, I do think highly of myself. All I do is think of new strategies, test new strategies, raise Pokemon, discuss new strategies etc. I play/think of this game nonstop, and I've worked my a** off getting to where I am right now. I'm proud of how good I am at this game. I came off arrogant, and yeah I messed up there, but of course I'm going to think highly of myself.

And yes, a 57-2 record does mean something. That's incredible, seeing as how luck is a big part of Pokemon, and I've only gotten unlucky one time in 59 matches.

I referred to smogon because smogon is a 100% pokemon site and people there would take self-exaltation a lot worse. I know that smogon isn't that great, without the need of UmbreonMow's thread.

I could care less of your victories or achievements. I hope getting this far into pokemon completes your life.

Anyway, I've made a team I've yet to post on here yet *GASP*, and it's been working good so far. Me and Drugged Fox made it together, but I've made a couple of changes myself. We didn't use smogon at all for the team, and I'm sure we both would appreciate it if you could fix it up for us.

OK, question for TC.

I don't know much about the d/p metagame and it is somewhat overwhelming. What would you say are the biggest differences between how adv is played and how d/p is played? What prominent pokes were buffed/nerfed by the physical/special split?

also, would it be easier or harder in d/p to run a gimmick mono-type team?
