So it seems it's not just Duck Hunt for us after all. I guess it makes sense though to call it that than just name them after the game they are from. What are your thoughts on this?

I like it more than just Duck Hunt, but I'm still going to call them Duck Hunt Dog.

Duck Hunt Dog + Duck Hunt Duck = Duck Hunt Duo

DHD + DHD = DHD

Good enough for me!

Stupid debate over the name is now over.

I like it! It makes more sense to me than simply "Duck Hunt", and it's a way to acknowledge the duck in addition to the dog.

Excuse me, I'm going to laugh at some rude ****ers who yelled at me for not just saying "Duck Hunt".

Not here, though.

Oh look, a non-Japanese copy with the full roster.

Duck Hunt Duo does sound better than just Duck Hunt. After all, they're a team.

Clearly the Hunter is part of the team, though. Who's shooting??
This is why I don't like the name either. It's clearly a trio representing the whole of Duck Hunt. Duo makes no sense.

Heck, the shooter has more attacks than the dog.

So DHD is still accidentally correct...

Solid. Don't have to change my habits, at least.

Well this way we can still use 'DHD'. I think it's a good translation since you play as both the duck and the dog.

Didn't the leaked screenshots have translated names like Bowser and Charizard? I thought it was the English version we saw.

"Duck Hunt Duo" is their European name. It's still "Duck Hunt" in North America.

Duck Hunt Duo makes more sense than just Duck Hunt I guess. Mostly because their moveset is compromised from different retro games and not just Duck Hunt.

Wonderful. Another moronic translation change from NoE. Are they somehow unaware that people play these games online now? Having different terms across continents benefits nobody. They change all the track names in Mario Kart, too. It's a pain in the backside.

I'm dreading the arrival of the news that they've changed Wii Fit Trainer's accent. I would not put it past NoE to ruin that character for me.

What if "duo" means the dog and the hunter?

It's still DHD

Sounds better than Duck Hunt

It shouldn't be Duck Hunt DOG, as the duck fights too.

I'm perfectly ok with this.

Europe thinks everything. Nice to know that DHD can still be a thing. I love the name BTW, they amended the same thing with "Ice Climber(s)".

It has been changed during localization it seems, the leaks were supposedly from a July build, so there has been plenty of time for them to change it.

Personally I'm just glad we can keep the DHD abbreviation.

I like that we can keep the DHD acronym. I can continue making Stargate jokes :awesome:

They call the device that dials "addresses" on the Stargate the "Dial Home Device" because they use it to return to earth. They call it DHD for short. C'MON IT'S JUST OUT THERE!

It is just like how the Japanese Names are Ice Climber and Duck Hunt, naming them after their origin games while localization teams try and make it more logical to English speakers.

Where is the guy now who cried like a little kid "Uh TECHNICALLY it is Duck Hunt urgh I suck so much" Hahaha.
Here is again proof how the "official" term shouldn't be always correct. Now in Germany the name will be mostlikely Duck Hunt Duo.

Ah I love it than I am right simply by an official statement

I much prefer it to simply being "Duck Hunt". That to me sounded really cheap so I'm pleased with this :D.

I'm cool with this name but I had already nicknamed them Duck Hunter and was kinda hoping that would be their official name. But at least we can still use DHD or dog for short

Lol you scrub... The official name is correct. The name is Duck Hunt Duo in english translations, and Duckhunt in Japan. No where is it duck hunt dog. I don't like this change, but I guess Duck Hunt Duo it is :/.

I'm confused, then why in the leak it just said 'Duck Hunt'...?
Whatever, guessing in the leak it wasn't the final copy, just the almost final copy or something.
Anyway, I'm cool with this name.
