nyc melee - desperate call for help

i really love playing melee, but im not so good at it. by now, everyone's probably way better at it than i am considering it's had a competitive scene for a while. so im calling for help.

if anyone knows any melee stuff tourney/smashfest wise in nyc it will be greatly appreciated to let me know so i can get more into this game. i've owned it since for ever but never entered anything competitive. thanks for your help anyone who takes time to ready this.

i know d1, he *****. hard. but thing is, i want to go to a tourney or a smashfest. being ***** by the same people over and over isn't fun. I want to play people who are better than me, but not "you'll never beat me no matter how hard you try" good. XD

i wish there were melee tournies in brooklyn or nyc in general too =\. messi had a mini smashfest at his house not too long ago and i think he might do a tournament sometime.
