Now that lucas is confirmed, is there hope for jiggs?

I love beating friends with Jigglypuff since it is a very annoying character (same goes for Yoshi and Pichu...although it doesnt happen often with the latter).

To play with it is a 'marmite' love-hate character and dosnt have much appeal to casual players.

Unless we can find a character to use 'rest' then Jigglypuff shouldnt be going anywhere.

You're assuming that Lucas is identical to Ness
from that you're assuming that they will definitely not put in clones
from that you're assuming that Lucas means Ness won't be in
from that you're assuming that the original ssb characters won't all be in
from that you're assuming that Luigi, Jiggs and Falcon also have a chance of being cut
from that you're assuming that Jiggs is the least popular of all the ones unannounced yet

Sakurai would be an idiot to have his team remove ANY characters from either of the last two games (maybe with the exception of Pichu).

If he has any sense at all (which I believe he does seeing as the last two games were spectacular), he would include all of the original 25 plus the new ones. Wasn't the rumored count somewhere around 40?

Regardless, all of this speculation that Ness is gone because Lucas is here is totally irrational. There really is no telling. It's all a matter of what he wants us to know, and now that the game is most likely done and getting ready for production, he's probably sitting around on the internet, reading sites like SmashBoards, and laughing because he's confused so many people and driven people crazy... and then on December 3rd, we'll just see every character in the game anyways. What a smart guy...

You shouldn't based your facts on characters that are totally different that the character you're assuring is back. I could understand if they're in the same universe, though.

Jiggs is most likely going to be returning, though. I see no true reason to remove her.

Actually, don't you remember everyone saying the Ice Climbers are going to be removed? When they had absolutely no reason to remove them? Is there any reason to remove Jigglypuff? Such a unique character? No, not really. Same goes for Mr.G&W.

As soon as the Ice Climbers were confirmed, I stopped listening to all those rumours to why people think unique characters will be removed.

Lucas has the same moveset as Ness. How do you know?

alright, not going to try and reason with any of you, because each one of us has our own thoughts about whats going to happen blah blah blah.....

just consider this.
this is the third installment of a game where major nintendo characters fight each other
both lucas and ness are major nintendo characters.
in regards to all the things about lucas replacing ness in melee, ness would be coming back now because there is a huge demand for more people in this game, and earthbound needs a rep.
puff is a popular character to nintendo's pokemon era, the little balloon appeals to little kids. 8 years olds will see pikachu, jiggs, and the trainer and will be like OMG LIKE PIKA PIKA JIG PUFF POKEMON GO!!!!!!!!! etc.

no one is replacing anyone, not to say that there wont be "cuts". every major asset to melee is returning, so think about who is an asset to melee.

pichu - it says in her character trophie that it isnt important, but that doesnt mean shes not returning. she was put in the game for a reason. everyone was, jsut think about it.
