Just curious about what some of the smash community thinks about our whole situation with North Korea. I'm not just looking from the American point of view, but just in general. I feel bad for the (defenseless) East Asian countries in particular (Japan), as I have family from there. Is this something the youth should be concerned about?

South Korean protesters burn North Korean national flags during a rally, denouncing the ninth anniversary of the June 2000 summit between former South Korean President Kim Dae-jung and North Korean leader Kim Jong Il in front of Kim Dae-jung's house in Seoul, South Korea, Sunday, June 14, 2009. North Korea's communist regime has warned of a nuclear war on the Korean peninsula while vowing to step up its atomic bomb-making program in defiance of new U.N. sanctions. Banners read: 'Support U.N. sanctions.'

the WHOLE situation in north korea? that's a pretty big situation. the issue of reunification is the most interesting to me. most south koreans "support" reunification, but are not ready to face the crazy economic repercussions of bringing millions of destitute, brainwashed north koreans into modern south korea. the government in north korea tells its citizens to blame western culture for all its problems, and south korea is a culture that embraces and popularizes western and american culture. a clash like this would be pretty WILD

but in the long term reunification is good i guess, but no one wants to face it now

This is an article I found a while about about an American that lives in South Korea who takes a trip to North Korea to see the Arirang festival (only time some foreigners like Americans are allowed in).

North Korea is pretty fucked up. I don't think they will actually do anything big though, because hopefully they know they'd get utterly destroyed if they tried to start something. Not even China has their back anymore, so all they can do is puff their chest and shout about their rockets and whatnot. I think the North Korean leaders are genuinely terrified of the strength of the outside world.

My friend Derek (Hostility) recommended a great documentary on North Korea. It's a shocking display of the mysterious country, exploring social structure and hand-fed propaganda. There are different kinds of scary, whether it be the back alley of an Eastern European market or the infested corridors of India...North Korea demonstrates the psychological horror kind of scary.

Check out the documentary.

My sister is currently living in China and met a North Korean man at a restaurant she was working at. She asked him how life was there and he told her they had no food and were forced to eat rats.

a lot of everywhere has always been messed up

life IS messed up;

make the most of it while you have it, and be thankful you're reading this message.

Why risk just letting them even have access to Nuclear Warheads? One crazy spasm and a man can easily snuff out the life of millions of people. If not billions.

i feel bad for north korean citizens

this is all i have to say
Well, they're completely ignorant of the situation though. Think if you were Rick Warren or Brigham Young, and Jesus showed up in a parade or was within 100 feet of you. You'd be pretty "OMFG" status wouldn't you
